"São Luís do Maranhão foi a cidade escolhida para receber o Wacken Open Air, o maior festival de Heavy Metal do mundo, que acontece anualmente na cidade de Wacken, no norte da Alemanha. O anúncio foi feito na última sexta-feira (04.11) e esta será a primeira vez que o evento será realizado no Brasil.
O evento deverá ser realizado nos dias 20, 21 e 22 de abril de 2012. Ao todo mais de 30 bandas alemãs e brasileiras, entre elas Manowar, Motorhead, Dimmu Borgir, Destruction e Anthrax, já confirmaram presença."
