"To Kill A Man", the new video from the Swedish all-girl hard rock quartet CRUCIFIED BARBARA, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's fourth studio album, "In The Red", which will be released on August 20 via Despotz Records.

"We and many of us feel a huge impotence and rage when we hear and read about men who systematically abuse and rape women," commented the band. "This type of crime is something that happens every day, everywhere.

"Of anger, we create music. Heavy substances and harsh riffs became the song 'To Kill A Man', a really heavy song in a double sense."

"In The Red" was recorded at Music A Matic studio in Gothenburg with producer Chips Kiesby and engineer Henryk Lip, and is the follow-up to 2012's "The Midnight Chase".

Formed in Stockholm in 1998 by bassist Ida Evileye (now-wife of MESHUGGAH drummer Tomas Haake) and Force, CRUCIFIED BARBARA plays a fiery brand of rock 'n' roll tinged with metal and lashings of punk, pop, thrash, and whatever else dares to cross their path. On the eve of Michael Sweet's new solo album 'I'm Not Your Suicide' and book 'Honestly: My Life And Stryper Revealed', the Stryper frontman has released a video for "Heart Of Gold". The cover version of the Neil Young classic features Sweet doing a duet with Dave Mustaine's daughter Electra.

With the upcoming and long-overdue solo album, Sweet is finally delivering the project fans have been patiently waiting for. Self-produced, 'I'm Not Your Suicide' includes special appearances by Tony Harnell (TNT), Kevin Max (dcTalk, Audio Adrenaline), Chris Jericho (Fozzy), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), Electra Mustaine (daughter of Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine) and Stryper bandmates Robert Sweet and Timothy Gaines. Legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff played on the record as well.

Sweet is best known as the singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer for Christian rock pioneers Stryper, selling over 10 million albums worldwide. In addition to Stryper, Sweet has had a successful solo career, and he served as the guitarist and co-vocalist for the legendary classic rock band Boston from 2007 to 2011. The future remains bright for a man who has endured heartbreaking tribulations throughout his life and career, including the 2009 passing of his wife of more than 22 years, Kyle. In 2010, Sweet remarried to Lisa Champagne-Sweet, a woman he describes as, "a Godsend and the one who fits perfectly by my side." Sweet continues to record and tour with Stryper, as well as touring and recording as a solo artist.

CRUCIFIED BARBARA
As suecas do Crucified Barbara estarão pela segunda vez no Brasil para mostrar seu hard rock poderoso. O quarteto retornará ao país com a notoriedade de ser uma das novas bandas mais imponentes do cenário europeu. Misturando influências do punk e do metal, Mia Coldheart (vocal e guitarra), Klara Force (guitarra), Ida Evileye (baixo) e Nicki Wicked (bateria) fazem um som nervoso que atingiu seu melhor momento no disco The Midnight Chase. O último registro do grupo, lançado no final de 2012, conquistou uma série de elogios da mídia especializada.

Em atividade desde o fim dos anos noventa, a Crucified Barbara despontou na Europa com o disco In Distortion We Trust (2005). O reconhecimento foi imediato, e o conjunto foi direto para o Top 10 das paradas suecas, além de debutar também na América do Norte e no Japão com o álbum. Como era o esperado, não demorou muito para que a banda atravessasse o oceano Atlântico – as quatro garotas excursionaram pela Austrália em 2006 após seis semanas de shows pela Europa. As críticas extremamente positivas colaboraram para que o disco chegasse também ao Brasil, pela gravadora Hellion Records, dedicada à música pesada. Com quatro discos lançados, a Hibria é um dos nomes mais importantes do metal gaúcho – e nacional. Isso pode ser comprovado pelos feitos conquistados por Iuri Sanson (voz), Abel Camargo (guitarra), Renato Osorio (guitarra) Benhur Lima (baixo) e Eduardo Baldo (bateria). Entre eles, abrir os shows do Black Sabbath e do Metallica em Porto Alegre, fazer turnês pelo Japão – o que rendeu até um DVD chamado Blinded by Tokyo: Live (2012) – e participar da edição 2013 do megafestival Rock In Rio. Atualmente, a banda trabalha na divulgação de seu álbum mais recente Silent Revenge (2013).

KIARA ROCKS
Formada em 2007, o Kiara Rocks é uma banda de rock paulistana integrada por Cadu Pelegrini (voz e guitarra), Anselmo Fávaro (guitarra), Phil Bonaño (guitarra), Juninho (baixo) e Marcos Grevy (bateria). O grupo já participou duas vezes do programa ‘Astros’, do SBT, e tocou em uma das noites de peso do Rock In Rio 2013 no mesmo palco e dia de Iron Maiden, Slayer e Avenged Sevenfold . Premiere\\ Brazilian All-Female Thrash Trio NERVOSA: 'Death' Video Released

"Death", the new video from NERVOSA, the all-female thrash metal act from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's debut album, "Victim Of Yourself", which will be released on March 11 in North America via Napalm Records. The production, recording, mixing and mastering were taken care of by Heros Trench and Pompeu, both of the veteran Brazilian metal band KORZUS. The recordings took place at the studio Mr. Som, where NERVOSA recorded its first EP, entitled "Time Of Death", in 2012.

According to a press release, "the all-female thrash metal combo pushes the pedal to the metal and offers the listener high-speed riffs, furious drumming and raging leads. The songs have a brutal and raw energy and are crowned by murderous hooks and the aggressive vocals by bassist Fernanda Lira."

Segundo uma recente publicação na fanpage Crucified Barbara Brasil no Facebook, a banda sueca de hard/heavy metal CRUCIFIED BARBARA virá ao Brasil em abril para uma nova turnê e terá os brasileiros do KIARA ROCKS como banda de abertura.

LRI: Você, claro, é mais famosa como a Miss Box Of Junk, mas seu currículo aponta pra várias habilidades diferentes, incluindo personal training, atuação e outros talentos. Eu vi um vídeo de sua aparição como Linda na adaptação da Broadway de ‘Wedding Singer’ [baseado no filme de Adam Sandler comercializado no Brasil como ‘Afinado no Amor’] e você canta muito bem. Foi divertido fazer aquilo e é verdade que você também faz uma ótima imitação de Britney Spears?
Jennifer: Interpretar Linda em ‘The Wedding Singer’ foi a realização de um sonho pra mim. Foi, de longe, uma das maiores experiências de minha vida! É verdade que eu faço uma boa imitação de Britney Spears. Na verdade eu a fiz em meu teste para entrar no That Metal Show, e eu acho que foi isso que me garantiu a vaga.

LRI: Trabalhar como personal trainer deve lhe realizar muito, já que ajuda aos clientes atingirem metas. Você já falou de boa forma com algum dos caras do TMS ou dos convidados?
Jennifer: Eu simplesmente amo ser uma personal trainer! Eddie está numa jornada de perca de peso, então de vez em quando a gente troca uma ideia. Atualmente eu treino Jim Norton três dias por semana em Nova Iorque. Nós tocamos Black Sabbath durante os exercícios!

Claro que a maioria das garotas não ouve só metal, mas vamos lhe dar o benefício da dúvida e dizer que você gosta MESMO de metal. De que bandas você gosta e de quais você aprendeu a gostar desde que entrou pro TMS?
Jennifer: As pessoas ainda devem dizer isso porque quando eu entrei pro TMS, eu não conhecia muito sobre metal. Contudo, eu tinha acabado de fazer uma turnê interpretando inda onde eu usava Lita Ford como minha inspiração para o personagem. Eu AMAVA me aquecer ao som de ‘Kiss Me Deadly’ na coxia. Estar no TMS me abriu para o mundo maravilhoso do Metal, e eu me apaixonei por ele. Não há nada melhor do que mandar um Metallica, Sabbath, Poison e Guns N’ Roses durante um malho puxado! [...]

Premiere\\ LITA FORD: 'Mother' Video Released

 

"Mother", the new video from '80s hard rock queen Lita Ford, can be seen below. Directing the clip, which was filmed last September in Joshua Tree, California, was Ford's former THE RUNAWAYS bandmate Victory Tischler-Blue, whose film "Edgeplay" was based on her tenure in the 1970s all-girl teenage rock act.

"Mother", which is dedicated to Lita's estranged sons, Rocco and James (father is former NITRO singer Jim Gillette), comes off her new album, "Living Like A Runaway", out now on SPV/Steamhammer. "I wrote this song for [my sons]," Lita recently told the Deciblog. "I wrote this song to tell them how much I love them and to tell them that I didn't mean for this to happen [for Lita to be forced to live apart from her kids following her divorce from Gillette. — Ed.] and that it's not my fault. I didn't do this to them, although they think I did. I miss them, I love them. They're my life."

"It was hard to write," she told Examiner.com. "It was hard to record. It's hard to listen to. I find myself skipping over it sometimes, depending on how much makeup I have on that day. If I'm all made up, I'm like, 'Oh, can't cry right now!' I've done interviews where big, grown men tell me they've come away from it in tears. That's huge. That's what I wanted — for people to feel my pain. But it is a great song."

"Living Like A Runaway" was released on June 19, 2012 in North America. The effort was made available in four configurations: a double LP, limited-edition CD, standard CD and digital download. The artwork for the album was created by famed rock photographer Mark Weiss.

In an interview with Über Röck. Lita stated about "Living Like A Runaway", "This was an album I wrote during one of the darkest times of my life. I was going through this divorce and I needed somewhere to channel my feelings. My hurt, my pain, my aggression, my sadness, my happiness... all of these feelings are in this record. When you listen to the tracks, they are believable because they are real. . . It just came together; it was like a gift from God, this album. It took a year to write, it was a slow process, seeming like two years, and it came to me a piece at a time."

Lita has previously referred to "Living Like A Runaway" as her "real comeback album." She explained, "The last album I did was called 'Wicked Wonderland'. I put it out with Jim Gillette, and we were married at the time. It is kind of a Jim/Lita album and not a really true Lita album. I got a lot of spiel about that. . . I really wasn't that comfortable with that record — not at all, to tell you the truth. There are parts of it that are good, but it doesn't sound like a Lita record. When it got released, a lot of my fans felt weird about it and said it wasn't a Lita album. [It] turned out to be more of a Jim album. We worked pretty well together. It doesn't suck, it's not a bad album; it's just not a Lita album."

They played Australia, toured across Europe opening for MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA, IN FLAMES, and DORO, and earned a prestigious slot alongside BLACK SABBATH, VELVET REVOLVER, and SYSTEM OF A DOWN at the U.K.'s Download festival. With all that touring, it would be four years before the band got around to recording their second album, 2009's "'Til Death Do Us Party". Next thing you know, there they were on national television performing at the 2010 edition of Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Premiere\\ ARCH ENEMY: 'Cruelty Without Beauty' Video Released

"Cruelty Without Beauty", the new video from Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's ninth album, "Khaos Legions", which sold around 6,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 78.

Commented ARCH ENEMY singer Angela Gossow: "I'm very pleased we got this video done for one of my favourite songs off the 'Khaos Legions' album. The video is quite raw and extreme as it reflects the lyrics very well, I believe, dealing with a subject matter close to my heart — animal cruelty and vivisection.

"We want to thank the good folks at Peta2, Hardforce, Metalitalia and The Metal Circus for supporting a serious subject.

"All of us have been well aware that a video like this doesn't find everybody's acceptance. But rock music was always more than guitar riffs — it's also the voice of the voiceless."

ARCH ENEMY earlier in the year amicably parted ways with guitarist Christopher Amott and replaced him with 26-year-old American musician Nick Cordle (ARSIS).

"Khaos Legions" was released in Europe on May 30, 2011 and in the U.S. on June 7, 2011 via Century Media Records. The CD marked the band's return to new, original material, after the release of the "Tyrants Of The Rising Sun - Live In Japan" live DVD/CD (2008) and the re-recordings album, "The Root Of All Evil" (2009). The effort was tracked at Sweet Spot Studio in the south of Sweden with engineer Rickard Bengtsson (who produced 2005's "Doomsday Machine").

CHICKS\\ HALESTORM's LZZY HALE Named 'Hottest Chick In Hard Rock'

According to The Pulse Of Radio, HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale has been named the "Hottest Chick In Hard Rock" in Revolver magazine's annual round-up of the sexiest female rockers. Hale tops a list of 25 women that includes current tourmate and EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee at No. 2, "Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen at No. 3, IN THIS MOMENT's Maria Brink at No. 6 and many others. The poll appears in the magazine's new issue, on sale next Tuesday (September 4).

Hale says she's pleased to top the survey and gave us her perspective on it. "My view of it really is to make sure that you're good at what you do, and so that when people actually want to look beyond the centerfold [laughs, that you're actually good and you have something to back it up," she says. "I think that most of us are really trying to push the envelope and, you know, make sure that we're musicians first and that the sex is just kind of the icing on the cake."

HALESTORM and EVANESCENCE are currently touring together on the "Carnival Of Madness" trek, which next stops in Clifton Park, New York on Friday (August 31).

Lee has been joining Hale onstage during numerous dates on the tour to perform the HALESTORM track "Break In".

EVANESCENCE is touring behind its self-titled third album, while HALESTORM is out in support of its sophomore effort, "The Strange Case Of…"
