Rocknews\\ Anthrax: Jon Donais assume cargo de guitarrista temporariamente

O ANTHRAX anunciou Jon Donais, do SHADOWS FALL, como guitarrista para as próximas datas ao-vivo da banda, na vaga deixada por Rob Caggiano. Donais assumirá o posto para os shows na Índia, para os festivais Soundwave Festival na Austrália, e para os shows da North American Metal Alliance Tour.

"Jon é um brother e também um completo rasgador," disse Scott Ian. "Eu trabalhei com ele em duas oportunidades em projetos paralelos e ele arrasa. Estou animado de tê-lo do meu lado botando fogo no palco. com o anthrax. 2013 vai ser um bom ano."

"Eu cresci com o Anthrax, eles são a cena thrash, eles são um dos Big Four, eu seria louco se não quisesse tocar com eles." disse Donais. "Primeiro Rob me ligou e disse que estava deixando a banda, e perguntou se eu estava interessado na vaga. Depois Scott me ligou e tudo se ajustou. Rob e eu estamos usando Skype para trabalhar nos solos e outras partes de guitarra, então ele tem sido ótimo. Eu também tenho de agradecer a minha banda, Brian, Matt, Jason e Ed - que apoiaram incrivelmente e me encorajaram a fazer isso."

SHADOWS FALL's tour bus caught fire earlier tonight near Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky while the band was making its way to its next show as part of its "Party To The Apocalypse 2012" U.S. tour with GOD FORBID, THY WILL BE DONE and TRUMPET THE HARLOT.

Commented SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner: "Everyone is fine, I repeat fine. It's no big deal. I was in my hotel room sick the whole time and had no clue, so please all well-wishers be known, it's no biggie, we're good."

SHADOWS FALL's new album, "Fire From The Sky", sold around 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 38 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Retribution", opened with 13,000 units in September 2009 to land at No. 35.

"Fire From The Sky" was released on May 15 via Razor & Tie. Recorded at Zing Studios in late 2011, the CD reunites SHADOWS FALL with longtime friend, producer/engineer and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE/TIMES OF GRACE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, ALL THAT REMAINS). The album was mixed by Brian Virtue and features some of the band's most complex and melodic material in years.

"The Unknown", the new video from Massachusetts metallers SHADOWS FALL, can be seen below. The clip was filmed on March 21 at an abandoned building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York with director Kevin J. Custer, who has previously worked with OVERKILL, HATEBREED, TESTAMENT and SUFFOCATION, among others.

Commented singer Brian Fair, "'Fire From The Sky' is not a concept album by any means, but a few common themes do link these songs together. These days, the world seems to be spiraling out of control into a frantic state of confusion, corruption and chaos. It's as if we are living under the shadow of an impending apocalypse. The songs on this album were inspired by this chaos and the struggle to find answers in these dark days."

Commented Marsh: "When presented with the idea, I wanted to deliver an aesthetic that would go beyond the 'typical' or ‘assumed.’ I wanted to embrace a perspective and emotive value that could be carried with the context of the record itself. While I knew this would be challenging and end up stylistic to one degree or another, I still wanted the viewer to get this overwhelming and brooding sense of chaos that could otherwise be imagined when putting themselves in that very scenic situation — supposing this record was the soundtrack to their own apocalyptic movie."

Agenda\\ Shadows Fall em São Paulo: Informações sobre ingressos

A banda norte-americana Shadows Fall tocará em São Paulo no dia 01 de julho, no Hangar110, às 20h. Essa será a única apresentação da banda em terras brasileiras. O show faz parte da turnê de divulgação do álbum “Retribution”, lançado ano passado.

Com 15 anos de estrada, a Shadows Fall surgiu em Massachusetts, conquistou público e critica, foi indicada ao Grammy duas vezes, em 2005 o baterista Jason Bittner foi eleito o melhor baterista pela revista Modern Drummer e a música da banda foi parar no jogo Guitar Hero, que é febre mundial. O quinteto mescla metal e hard rock, bebe um pouco da fonte thrash dos anos 80 e teve o “dedo” de Zeuss (Hatebreed e Municipal Waste) na produção musical do último álbum.

Programe-se e não deixe de ver a apresentação da banda que já é considerada a nova onda do heavy metal americano.

Agenda\\ Shadows Fall anuncia turnê pela América Latina

A banda norte-americana Shadows Fall anuncia que fará quatro apresentações pela América Latina entre o final de junho e início de julho e a boa notícia aos fãs brasileiros é que o país está incluído na turnê.

O primeiro show será em 26 de junho no México. Depois a banda vem para a América do Sul e se apresenta em Santiano, no Chile; Buenos Aires, na Argentina; e finalmente São Paulo. O show na capital paulista está agendado para o dia 1º de julho e será realizado na casa de shows Hangar 110.

O Shadows Fall está em turnê divulgando o álbum “Retribution”, sexto álbum da carreira da banda, lançado no ano passado. Os detalhes sobre valores de ingressos e postos de vendas para o show em São Paulo ainda não foram divulgados.
