JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford joined METALLICA on stage last night (Thursday, May 2) at the fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods award show presented by Epiphone at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California to perform the PRIEST classic "Rapid Fire". Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

METALLICA played a four-song set at Revolver Golden Gods: "Disposable Heroes", "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Rapid Fire" and "Seek And Destroy".

Halford previously performed "Rapid Fire" with METALLICA at one of the band's four intimate shows in December 2011 at the Fillmore in San Francisco as part of the week-long celebration of METALLICA's 30th anniversary as a band for fan club members only.

This Friday (May 3) has been declared Metallica Night at AT&T Park in San Francisco, home of baseball's San Francisco Giants. According to a press release issued by the team, members of METALLICA will participate in pre-game festivities which will include throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performing the National Anthem. The custom Giants-themed guitars that will be played by the pair will be signed immediately following the National Anthem and auctioned off at the Giants Community Clubhouse, with proceeds being shared by the Giants Community Fund and the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.

METALLICA is also gearing up to headline its second annual Orion Music + More festival, scheduled for June 8-9 in Detroit.

(In past years Revolver has honored metal legends Rob Halford of JUDAS PRIEST and Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH with the Golden God Award.) This year's recipient of the first-ever "Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award" — renamed in honor of the late, great 2010 Best Vocalist Award winner — is none other than the Sunset Strip's most iconic band, MÖTLEY CRÜE. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

"If you're a fan of hard rock and heavy metal, there's only one place to be on 4.20 this year — and it ain't your couch, with a bag of Doritos, watching The Lord of the Rings for the 57th time," states Revolver Editor in Chief Brandon Geist. "Everyone who is anyone in heavy music is going to be at the Revolver Golden Gods, and unlike pretty much every other award show, you, the fans, not only get to pick the winners, but you're also invited to the party. Traduza\\ REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARDS: Interview Clips From 'Black Carpet'

The Revolver Golden Gods Awards took place April 8 at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles featuring appearances by hard rock and metal royalty.

Full Metal Jackie, who hosts a nationally syndicated radio show, has uploaded a seven-minute video clip featuring interview footage from the event's black carpet. Watch the clip below.

The second annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards, presented by Epiphone, will be televised on VH1 Classic on Saturday, May 22.

This year, hosting duties for the Golden Gods were shared between musician, activist and entrepreneur Andrew W.K. and professional wrestler, actor, author and metal fan Chris Jericho.

The Revolver Golden God Award is given to one special honoree a year who embodies all that is metal. This year, the accolade went to JUDAS PRIEST frontman and Metal God Rob Halford, and it was presented to him by last year's Lifetime Achievement Award winner, the legendary Ozzy Osbourne. (Last year Revolver honored metal legend Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH with the Golden God Award.) This year's recipient of the Revolver Golden Gods Lifetime Achievement Award was none other than hard rock icon Lemmy Kilmister. Lemmy has fronted MOTÖRHEAD, the loudest band on the planet, for 35 years, and his background includes being Jimi Hendrix's roadie in the '60s before joining HAWKWIND. Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS, NIRVANA, THEM CROOKED VULTURES) did the honor of presenting Lemmy with his Revolver Golden Gods Lifetime Achievement Award.

Adding to the celebration of all that is best in metal this year, the Golden Gods Awards also included hard-rocking musical numbers by ROB ZOMBIE, FEAR FACTORY (who made its first L.A. appearance ever with the band's new lineup), AS I LAY DYING, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and last year's host Brian Posehn's all-star band featuring Scott Ian, Brendon Small, John Tempesta and Joey Vera, with a special performance by Zakk Wylde.

Revolver Golden Gods Awards winners:

Revolver Golden God Award - Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST)
Revolver Golden Gods Lifetime Achievement Award - Lemmy Kilmister
Album Of The Year - ALICE IN CHAINS - Black Gives Way To Blue
Best Vocalist - Ronnie James Dio (HEAVEN & HELL)
Best Guitarist - Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY)
Best Drummer - Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan (AVENGED SEVENFOLD)
