Crashdiet have released a music video for the song "Circus", the latest single from their recent album 'The Savage Playground'.

'The Savage Playground', the Swedish sleaze band's second with vocalist Simon Cruz and fourth album in total, was released worldwide via Frontiers Records on January 25th and debuted at #2 on the Swedish album charts. The new album sees Crashdiet going in a heavier and more live direction musicwise. "The Savage Playground is our playground, its the beginning and the end, its the place where we eat and breed," said guitarist Martin Sweet. "We thought the time was right for us to do an edgier and not so polished sounding album, kinda like what we sound like live. It's more organic and rough sounding. And of course we're always evolving as musicians and like to try new ways of expressing ourselves, and that can most definitely be heard this album."

Após o falecimento de seu empresário durante um show no Reino Unido, a banda sueca de hard rock CRASHDÏET esteve financeiramente em maus lençóis. O dinheiro que eles tinham para prosseguir com a turnê está congelado, por assim dizer, já que o empresário controlava todas as finanças da banda como pessoa jurídica.

O grupo procura agora ajuda dos fãs para angariar dinheiro de modo a terminar a turnê. Eles estão oferecendo recompensas pela ajuda, como passes vitalícios para o backstage, itens usados em turnê [palhetas, cordas, peles de bateria] e camisetas especiais.
As boas novas: o objetivo da coleta era levantar 7600 euros, e eles já conseguiram 17mil! Sendo assim, a banda pode terminar o giro como programado e talvez liquidar os débitos que adquiriram como pessoas físicas logo após a morte de seu manager.

Resenha\\ Crashdiet na Clash Club

Formada desde o início dos anos 2000, o CRASHDÏET já passou por duas mudanças de vocalista, uma delas devido à trágica morte de Dave Lepard, então principal compositor da banda. Tendo enfim se firmado com Simon Cruz no vocal, veio ao Brasil pela terceira vez (a segunda com Simon), promovendo o recém lançado "The Savage Playground".

Às 21:20h o CRASHDÏET apareceu no palco para encarar novamente os fãs brasileiros presentes, fãs esses que tiveram a dura missão de chegar ao Clash Club sob a forte chuva que tomava conta da cidade de São Paulo.

Com "Change The World", "Circus" e "Anarchy", três canções do novo álbum, a banda ganhou rapidamente a simpatia do público, trazendo sua tradicional energia ao vivo. O CRASHDÏET, apesar de seu visual Sleaze, com referência aos anos 80, consegue mesclar seu Glam/Sleaze com toques de Hardcore e Punk, sem deixar de lado suas influências óbvias, como MÖTLEY CRÜE, GUNS N' ROSES e HANOI ROCKS, para citar apenas algumas.

No setlist nove músicas do disco mais recente, intercaladas com canções dos demais álbuns, valendo destacar até mesmo a grata surpresa de "In The Raw", música originalmente gravada por Olliver Twist (ex-vocalista da banda, atualmente no RECKLESS LOVE).
Em "Queen Obscene/69 Shots", a música mais incrível lançada pela banda até então (ao menos para este que vos escreve), o público agitou bastante e essa foi um dos pontos altos da noite, com direito a uma parte mais lenta no meio da execução, com a plateia cantando o refrão junto com Simon.


Mas não foi só nessa canção que o público presente fez bonito. Acompanhou a banda durante todo o show, mostrando que conhecia o material do CRASHDÏET e que o grupo já tem um espaço de destaque no Brasil, especialmente entre os fãs do estilo.
E olha que não foi fácil manter a empolgação o tempo todo. Isso porque o Clash Club se mostrou ao mesmo tempo uma ótima e uma péssima escolha. O show estava marcado inicialmente para o Inferno Club, mas foi alterado para o Clash Club, uma ótima opção em termos de espaço e visual, mas por outro lado muito ruim devido ao calor e à posição do palco, muito baixo em relação ao público, o que dificultou a visibilidade dos que estavam na pista e ainda o trabalho dos fotógrafos.

Dificuldades de lado, todo o carinho do público pela banda foi retribuído pelo baterista Eric que, entre o primeiro e o segundo bis, fez questão de falar que ama o Brasil e oferecer um brinde a todos presentes, mostrando que já fala um pouco de português (além das passagens da banda por aqui, Eric já teve oportunidade de passar férias no país).

O encerramento teve a ótima "Cocaine Cowboys", single do álbum "The Savage Playground" e ainda "Generation Wild", faixa que dá título ao disco anterior, gravado também com Simon Cruz no vocal.

Pouco mais de 1 hora e meia de Sleaze Metal de primeiríssima qualidade, executado por uma banda que levanta a bandeira do estilo e se mantém em alto nível há anos.

Se, em março de 2006, quando escrevi uma das primeiras matérias sobre a banda neste site (resenha do CD "Rest In Sleaze"), era provalmente inimaginável ver o CRASHDÏET por aqui, depois de mais essa passagem pelo país fica a certeza de que eles continuarão a incluir o Brasil em suas futuras turnês mundiais.

The official Richard "Rick-y" Frantzén-directed video for "Cocaine Cowboys", the new single from Swedish rockers CRASHDÏET, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's fourth album, "The Savage Playground", which will be released on January 25 in Europe (excluding Scandinavia) and January 22 in North America via Frontiers Records.

With "The Savage Playground" recorded during summer/autumn 2012 at Kingside Studios outside Stockholm with producer Otto Wellton, the band has their minds set to break through on a worldwide basis with a tour that will see the band going back to the U.S. as well as going to Japan for the first time.

The new album sees CRASHDÏET going in a heavier and direction. "'The Savage Playground' is our playground, it's the beginning and the end, it's the place where we eat and breed," says guitarist Martin Sweet.  A leading force in the Swedish 'sleaze rock' scene of the 2000s -- a revival of the glam metal of the 1980s, but with a more pronounced punk element -- Crashdiet formed in 2000, taking inspiration from Skid Row, Guns N' Roses, KISS, W.A.S.P., and G.G. Allin, and vowing to bring back the big shows and big songs of "unpredictable and dangerous" rock 'n' roll.

"Cocaine Cowboys is about us and them. When you had enough you need to be saved, thats the way it works. The cocaine cowboys is the providers we meet in our business and ultimately the godmother, but she is just one example of the initial source," says singer Simon Cruz.

In April of 2010 the band's third album 'Generation Wild' pretty much summed up the extraordinary but yet tragic history of a band, determined to never give up their dream. Crashdiet has become known as a band with a huge following of diehard fans, and the massive interest for them never seems to fade.

There has been extensive touring during the course of 'Generation Wild' and the absolute highlight saw the band conquer Hollywood and New York City with sold out shows at the Whisky A Go Go and Webster Hall. The band also supported their heroes Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne. "Supporting Motley Crue in Helsinki and headlining Whisky A Go Go have been the highlights of the Generation Wild tour," says guitarist Martin Sweet.

With the new studio album 'The Savage Playground', recorded during summer/autumn 2012 in their native Sweden, the band has their minds set to break through on a world-wide basis with a tour that will see the band going back to the US as well as going to Japan for the first time. "We will put a lot of effort into the US for our new tour. We will start in Scandinavia in February, then we head to the US and Canada. CRASHDÏET has been touring quite a bit in the last two and a half years, opening up for such bands as MÖTLEY CRÜE, OZZY OSBOURNE, MICHAEL MONROE and WEDNESDAY 13, and traveling everywhere from Australia to USA to Brazil.

CRASHDÏET performed a new song "Anarchy" for the first time on June 7 when they played at Kaisaniemi Park in Helsinki, Finland as the support act for MÖTLEY CRÜE.

The band's third CD, "Generation Wild", was recently released on vinyl. This gatefold LP features the new bonus track "Hollywood Teaze" as well as updated artwork.

"Generation Wild" entered the official chart in Sweden at position No. 3.

CRASHDÏET in 2009 announced the addition of Simon "Simme" Cruz from the Stockholm act JAILBAIT as the group's new lead singer.

The band parted ways with its previous vocalist, the Finland-based H. Olliver Twisted, in July 2008.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Fackrell, Lee was in a group of motorcyclists — which also included Lee's girlfriend, Brigitte Voss-Balzarini, and GOTTHARD bassist Marc Lynn — that stopped on the side of northbound Interstate 15, about 50 miles north of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, to put on rain clothing at about 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

A tractor-trailer swerved and slammed into the parked Harley-Davidson motorcycle that hit Lee.

Lee, who had a British father and Swiss mother, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 47 years old.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
