Having returned from a triumphant co-headlining Australia/New Zealand jaunt with NINE INCH NAILS, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have wasted no time in teaming with director Hiro Murai (CHILDISH GAMBINO, ST. VINCENT) for the just-unveiled cinematic mini-epic for "Smooth Sailing", the latest single from the band's most recent album, "...Like Clockwork" (Matador).

The definitely NSFW "Smooth Sailing" follows QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's Joshua Homme and cohorts on a delirious adventure that blossoms from garden variety drunken shenanigans to possibly the most nightmarishly accurate live action interpretation of a QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE song to date. Seriously, "Smooth Sailing" lends a new meaning to 3D musical cinema — that is, it turns the 3 D's into Drinking, Drugs and Death.

In addition to newly announced dates in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; Bangor, Maine; Port Chester, New York; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have begun to confirm details of a South America tour for this fall, including stops in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay.

A banda de rock americana Queens of the Stone Age chega ao Brasil em setembro deste ano como parte da turnê do disco "...Like Clockwork".

O grupo toca em São Paulo no dia 25, no Espaço das Américas (r. Tagipurú, 795), e no dia 27 em Porto Alegre, no Pepsi On Stage (av. Severo Dulius, 1995).

Esta é a primeira vez que a banda inclui o Brasil em uma turnê mundial. A última vez que estiveram no país foi no ano passado, tocando no Lollapalooza.

Ainda não foram divulgados os preços e as datas de venda de ingresso.

TRETAS\\ Trent Reznor xinga produtores do Grammy após show ser 'interrompido'

'Um FUCK YOU sincero, caras', escreveu cantor do Nine Inch Nails.

O líder da banda Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, xingou os organizadores do Grammy após a interrupção precoce de seu show na cerimônia deste domingo (26). A apresentação ao lado de Dave Grohl, do Foo Fighters, de Josh Homme, do Queens of the Stone Age, e de Lyndsey Buckingham, do Freetwood Mac, foi cortada pouco antes do fim. Subitamente, começaram a subir os créditos e passou a ser exibida uma propaganda.

"A maior noite da música... para ser desrespeitado. Um FUCK YOU sincero, caras", escreveu o Reznor no Twitter, pouco depois de deixar o palco. O "supergrupo" havia acabado de tocar "Copy of A", faixa do álbum "Hesitation marks" (2013) do Nine Inch Nails, e executava "My God is the sun", faixa do álbum "...Like clockwork" do Queens of the Stone Age, quando veio o desfecho inesperado.

A revista americana "The Hollywood Reporter" reproduziu uma declaração do presidente da academia responsável pelo Grammy. Premiere\\ QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE: 'I Appear Missing' Animated Video Released

Following the cryptic surfacing of the LikeClockwork.tv and its hazy semi-clues and last night's Adult Swim ad, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have unveiled a trailer scored by three minutes of the never-before-heard "I Appear Missing", which appears in its entirety on the band's upcoming "...Like Clockwork" album, due out June 4 on Matador Records.

Showcasing disturbingly beautiful (or beautifully disturbing?) images from the boundless imagination of "...Like Clockwork" visual visionary, enigmatic U.K. artist Boneface (brought to life by animator Liam Brazier), "I Appear Missing" is a hypnotic journey into a nightmare-scape that adds illustrative dimension to another audio glimpse of the coming storm that is "...Like Clockwork".

Described by QUEENS principal Joshua Homme as "an audio documentary of a manic year," "...Like Clockwork" is the band¹s first full-length collection of all new material since 2007's "Era Vulgaris", as well as its debut release on new label partner Matador. The record can be pre-ordered on CD and vinyl. iTunes pre-orders will immediately receive "My God Is The Sun", which has been generating some early heat.

"…Like Clockwork" features guest appearances from Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl and other luminaries, including the legendary Elton John. The Pulse Of Radio asked QUEENS frontman Josh Homme how he snagged the iconic singer/songwriter to play on the record. "It actually stemmed from an old roommate of mine, who drives really high-end folks around now, and Elton was in the car listening to THEM CROOKED VULTURES, I guess," he said. "And his assistant was saying, 'Oh, you've got to hear QUEENS, the other band of this guy,' you know. And because my old roommate was driving the car, it was like, 'Do you want to talk to him?' And I just got a phone call at my house on a Sunday. You know, he said, 'The only thing missing from your band is an actual queen,' and I said, 'Honey, you have no idea.'"

The track that Elton plays on is called "Fairweather Friend".

Although it was initially reported that Dave Grohl played all the drum tracks on the new CD, Grohl only appears on selected songs. The rest of the drums are handled by Joey Castillo and Jon Theodore.

Other guests on the record include SCISSOR SISTERS singer Jake Shears, ARCTIC MONKEYS frontman Alex Turner and one-time QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE members Mark Lanegan and Nick Oliveri.

Lollapalooza 2013 \\ QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Debuts New Song At LOLLAPALOOZA BRAZIL

Professionally filmed video footage of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE performing a brand new song, "My God Is the Sun", during the band's appearance at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 30 can be seen below. The gig marked the group's first live performance since a string of dates in 2011 to support the re-release of their 1998 self-titled debut album.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's current touring lineup includes THE MARS VOLTA drummer Jon Theodore.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE will release its sixth studio album, "…Like Clockwork", this June on Matador Recorda, which is part of Beggars Group, the largest independent label group in the world. Described by QUEENS principal Joshua Homme as "an audio documentary of a manic year," "…Like Clockwork" is the band's first full-length collection of all-new material since 2007's "Era Vulgaris", as well as the group's debut release on new label partner Matador. The group was previously signed to Interscope.

"…Like Clockwork" was produced by Joshua Homme and QOTSA and recorded by Mark Rankin at Pink Duck Studios in Burbank, California. The CD includes drums by Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS, NIRVANA), Joey Castillo and Jon Theodore, and guest appearances by Sir Elton John, Trent Reznor (NINE INCH NAILS), Mark Lanegan (SCREAMING TREES), ex-QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri, Jake Shears (THE SCISSOR SISTERS), James Lavelle and Alex Turner.

The official QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE web site has been updated to include the new artwork below and a series of sound snippets that are presumably taken from the forthcoming CD.

Grohl played drums on the QUEENS' 2002 album, "Songs For The Deaf", and did go on a short club tour with the group before returning to active duty with the FOOS — who took QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE out as support.

Grohl stepped in for the recording sessions after the group parted ways with longtime drummer Joey Castillo.

"Era Vulgaris" came out in June 2007 and entered the Billboard chart at No. 14.

Lollapalooza 2013 \\ Lollapalloza Brasil 2013 anuncia horários dos shows

O Lollapalooza Brasil 2013 anunciou, nesta segunda-feira (21), os horários de seus shows. O festival acontece entre os dias 29 e 31 de março, no Jockey Club, em São Paulo. Os fãs de Pearl Jam podem comemorar. A banda fará o show mais longo dos três dias.
Na primeira noite, o headline The Killers subirá ao Palco Cidade Jardim às 21h30. Está programado um show de 1 hora e meia. No mesmo período, o Knife Party fecha o Palco Perry. No segundo dia, no mesmo horário, Black Keys e Steve Aoki fecham os respectivos palcos.
No terceiro e último dia, o Pearl Jam fará o show mais longo do evento. A banda liderada por Eddie Vedder promete enlouquecer os fãs a partir das 20h45. O show está programado para terminas às 23h. No mesmo dia, o Kaskade encerra o Palco Perry, a partir das 21h30.

In addition, Oliveri has contributed vocals to the upcoming QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE album, which will feature Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS, NIRVANA) on drums.

Oliveri was fired from QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE in 2004 but has reconnected with QOTSA mainman Josh Homme in recent years, with the latter even appearing on a MONDO GENERATOR track several months ago.

Oliveri and fellow ex-KYUSS members John Garcia (vocals) and Brant Bjork (drums) reunited for shows last year under the KYUSS LIVES! banner, in which they were joined by guitarist Bruno Fevery. The band has since toured on both sides of the Atlantic and was said to be planning a live album as well as a new studio CD.

Ex-KYUSS members Josh Homme and Scott Reeder filed a lawsuit against their former bandmates in March, claiming that they "made every attempt to help [Garcia and Bjork] continue KYUSS LIVES! respectfully. Only to discover while they looked us in the eye, KYUSS LIVES! management and band had filed federal documents in 2011 in an attempt to steal the name KYUSS. This is desperately what we were trying to avoid."

Oliveri quit KYUSS LIVES! in March, telling Antiquiet, "John's idea, when I was [first] asked to [be a part of KYUSS LIVES!], was we were going to do a tour and promote our solo bands. Seeing John do it already with GARCIA PLAYS KYUSS at such a big level, [we thought], 'Wow, man, we could actually reach some people with our solo stuff in a very honest way and play the tunes that we have mad respect for and love as well. Basically, at the end of the day, that's what I'm doing. I'm gonna bow out and do MONDO GENERATOR, because that's what we were supposed to be doing originally."

He added, "To me, you can make money doing whatever you wanna do, but it isn't about that at the end of the day. To be in KYUSS, if I'm not having a good time, it's like… When I was a kid, I had a great time doing it. It sucked being out of it. I don't wanna be fired from any band… again. I figure to walk away with my head up high and do my own thing is a respectable thing, and I think I need to do that."

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE has tapped Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS, NIRVANA, THEM CROOKED VULTURES) to play drums on the band's forthcoming sixth studio album.

Grohl stepped in to lay down the drums tracks on the record, which is expected in early 2013, following the departure of Joey Castillo.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE frontman Josh Homme broke the news of Castillo's exit from the band earlier tonight (Tuesday, November 6) during an appearance on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show.

Grohl previously played drums on QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's 2002 album "Songs For The Deaf". He also teamed with Homme and LED ZEPPELIN bassist John Paul Jones for the THEM CROOKED VULTURES project.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE will make its first-ever appearance at the U.K.'s Download festival next summer. The event will take place June 14-16, 2013 at Donington Park.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's fifth album, "Era Vulgaris", came out in June 2007 and entered the Billboard chart at No. 14.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE commemorated the reissue of its classic 1998 debut with a limited series of intimate shows at which the band played the record in its entirety, plus B-sides and other rarities and hits from the early QUEENS catalog up to the present.

Rocknews\\ Soundgarden: Queens of the Stone Age abrirá alguns shows

No dia 14/04/11 o SOUNDGARDEN anunciou a tão esperada turnê no seu site oficial (www.soundgardenworld.com), com 4 shows, a princípio. Agora, no dia 05/05, o restante das datas da turnê de verão foi divulgada. Serão 16 shows no total (4 no Canadá), encerrando no estado de Washington, o estado natal da banda.

Haverá, novamente, pré-venda de ingressos aos fãs registrados em seu site, com direito a entrada antecipada nos shows e os melhores lugares.

Foram divulgados também os nomes das demais bandas de abertura. Aqui, a grande e bem vinda surpresa foi QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, que deve abrir os dois últimos shows da turnê. Também como convidados, tocam MASTODON, MEAT PUPPETS, COHEEDE E CAMBRIA, além do já anunciado THE MARS VOLTA.

SWU Music & Arts Festival \\ Queens of The Stone Age atrasa show em 1h, mas compensa em sucessos

Nem o atraso de 1h para entrar no palco, por causa de problemas técnicos, deixou o público insatisfeito com o Queens of The Stone Age, uma das atrações principais desta segunda-feira (11) do Palco Água no SWU Music and Arts Festival. O carismático líder Josh Homme surgiu ovacionado e sob reverência da plateia, que foi compensada com barulho, sucessos de uma discografia de cinco discos de estúdio e um dos melhores sons do festival, mesmo tendo a apresentação encurtada.

A banda voltou ao Brasil nove anos depois de sua última passagem no país, no Rock In Rio que ficou marcado por um baixista --Nick Oliveri-- pelado no palco. A atual vinda do grupo, agora com Michael Shuman no baixo, coincide com a comemoração dos dez anos do álbum “R”, que ganhou relançamento em edição de luxo. A banda não tem composições novas para mostrar, mas tem músicas suficientes para fã nenhum reclamar.

Homme, sempre preocupado em saber se seu público estava gostando da apresentação, não poupou hits: “Little Sister”, "Do It Again", "Go With The Flow", "In My Head" e o imediato “No One Knows”, louvado pela plateia com mãos ao alto. A banda privilegiou as canções mais pesadas, deixando assim de fora "Make It Wit Chu". “Song For the Dead” encerrou mais uma passagem da banda pelo país.

SWU Music & Arts Festival \\ Após nudez no Rio, Queens of the Stone Age toca no Brasil

No Rock in Rio, em 2001, o baixista do Queens of the Stone Age, Nick Oliveri, subiu ao palco nu. Foi aplaudido, vaiado, preso e, enfim, solto. Mas o episódio marcou a história da banda no país. Lamentável para alguns, rock n' roll para outros.

"As pessoas dançam assim no Carnaval aqui, por que não posso fazer o mesmo?", disse Oliveri em uma entrevista mais tarde.

Um dos atuais guitarristas, Troy Van Leeuwenm, ainda não estava na banda e apenas ouviu falar do episódio. "Disseram que os jornais gostaram tanto que colocaram a foto dele na primeira página. Ele saiu algemado do palco, foi quase um ato sexual".

E teremos supresas desta vez, no show da banda no dia 11, no SWU? "Desse tipo, não. Mas pode ser que a gente se jogue numa panela com água fervendo no palco e depois se ofereça como comida à plateia. Temos um gosto muito bom! Principalmente com tempero brasileiro".

Oliveri foi demitido em 2004, quando o líder da banda, Josh Homme, descobriu que ele agredira a namorada. "A música e a vida são a mesma coisa. Se ele fez uma coisa desse tipo, não o conheço", disse Homme à época.

Van Leeuwenm explica que, no grupo, as pessoas vêm e vão. "A ideia do Queens é algo que evoluiu com o tempo. A banda está melhor sem [Oliveri] em alguns aspectos, mas ainda o respeitamos".

Neste ano, o álbum "Rated R" completa dez anos. Em comemoração, a banda o relançou em versão deluxe e organizou uma turnê especial. "Aquele disco mostrava que não era só uma banda de rock, era uma banda que podia tocar o que quisesse", diz.

Segundo ele, este foi também o último álbum que a banda fez antes de as coisas ficarem diferentes. "Depois que lançamos 'Songs for the Deaf' [2002], crescemos muito, e os fãs ficavam bravos se algo não saía como eles esperavam. Era muita coisa para lidar".

O próximo álbum ainda não foi gravado, mas deve sair em 2011. Homme o descreve como "uma orgia no escuro do deserto". "Essa é uma boa definição", ri Van Leeuwenm. "É basicamente uma orgia, todos nós tocando juntos".

O deserto fica por conta do estúdio de Homme, o Rancho de La Luna, na Califórnia. "É um bom lugar para tocar. No deserto, no escuro, com orgias na nossa cabeça. Podemos fazer um churrasco, tomar uns drinks e talvez fazer música".

O que aconteceu com o sexo, drogas e rock n' roll? "Ah, nós não fazemos isso. Somos bons meninos. Vamos à igreja aos domingos!".
