ORION MUSIC 2013 \\ Original Lineup Of INFECTIOUS GROOVES To Reunite At 'Orion Music + More'

METALLICA, in conjunction with friends C3 Presents, has announced lineup additions for Orion Music + More, the two-day festival the band created that will take place June 8-9 at Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan. ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, VISTA CHINO, DEAD SARA and local favorites MATT CLARKE and CALICO have all been added to the already stacked lineup.

A very special addition to Orion Music + More 2013 will be an original lineup reunion of INFECTIOUS GROOVES, featuring Mike Muir (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES), Robert Trujillo (METALLICA), Stephen Perkins (JANE'S ADDICTION), Dean Pleasants (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES), and special guest Jim Martin (ex-FAITH NO MORE, filling in for original guitarist Adam Siegel). "To reunite with those guys after 22 years is going to be really special for me. Orion is the perfect place for that to happen...I'm looking forward to it," said Robert Trujillo.

INFECTIOUS GROOVES was formed soon after Trujillo joined SUICIDAL TENDENCIES in 1989. Muir and Trujillo got together with some friends to write song that centered more around the bass, but with the intent of giving everyone else a whole lot of freedom.

"SEX PISTOLS and PARLIAMENT were my two favorite bands when I was young," comments Muir. "People think they're completely different but I saw a lot of similarities, even if musically they were categorized as completely different styles. There's something beautiful about breaking rules that never should have been made."

Vans will be returning to Orion in 2013 with a full vert ramp, featuring pro skating demos happening right alongside live music. Vans will also feature four signature models of the Vans x Metallica footwear at Orion, including two "Kill 'Em All" styles.

Music fans will be able to stay well fed and hydrated throughout the weekend with the addition of the Orion food area, ...And Food For All. Orion Music + More has enlisted Detroit restaurateur and entrepreneur Phil Cooley of Slows BBQ to curate the area and showcase some of the region's great offerings.

Orion Music + More will feature more than 30 bands across five live music stages plus a lifestyle element that reflects each of METALLICA's band members many personal interests. Detroit will see the return of James Hetfield's Custom Car & Motorcycle Show, Kirk Hammett's Crypt, Lars Ulrich's Hit the Lights Film Tent and Robert Trujillo's Vans Vert Ramp alongside the Metallica Museum and many other fan favorite attractions.

INFECTIOUS GROOVES, the funkadelic side project of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES frontman Mike Muir, will play its first U.S. show in over ten years on November 23 at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California. This will be the band's only U.S. concert of 2010.

INFECTIOUS GROOVES in 2008 announced the addition of guitarist Tim Stewart and drummer Eric Moore to the group's ranks. The band's current lineup is as follows:

E o line up do dia 09 faz mais uma contratação: Infectious Grooves, que mistura funk e metal, liderada por Mike Muir, fundador do Suicidal Tendencies, vai pesar ainda mais o dia 9, primeiro data do SWU Music & Arts Festival, tocando ao lado de Rage Against the Machine, The Mars Volta, Mutantes e Black Drawing Chalks. A banda teve seu auge nos anos 90 e está de volta aos palcos desde 2008.

Formada por Dean Pleasants (guitarra), Steve Brunner (baixo), Eric Moore (bateria) e Mike Muir (vocais), o grupo lançou quatro discos até 2001, quando teve um hiato de sete anos. Já fizeram parte da banda Roberto Trujillo, que passou pelo Suicidal e agora toca no Metallica, e Stephen Perkins, do Janes Addiction.

Infectious Grooves foi formada logo depois que Trujillo entrou para o Suicidal Tendencies e conheceu Mike Muir. Logo eles começaram a escrever canções com base no baixo, mas com a intenção de dar a todos um pouco mais de liberdade. “Sex Pistols e Parliament são minhas duas bandas favoritas”, diz Muir. “As pessoas acham que são completamente diferentes, mas eu vejoque há diversas similaridades, mesmo que musicalmente elas sejam categorizadas em diferentes estilos.
