BLACK SABBATH's "God Is Dead?" also picked up a nomination in the "Best Rock Song" category. In addition, the band's comeback CD, "13", earned a nod for "Best Rock Album", alongside LED ZEPPELIN's "Celebration Day" and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's "…Like Clockwork", among others.

METALLICA's "Through The Never" received a nomination for "Best Recording Package" and ALICE IN CHAINS' "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" is up for the "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" award.

Nominations for the 56th annual Grammy Awards were announced tonight by The Recording Academy and reflected an eclectic mix of the best and brightest in music over the past year, as determined by the voting members of The Academy. For the sixth year, nominations for the annual Grammy Awards were announced on primetime television as part of "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night", a one-hour CBS entertainment special broadcast live from Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

"This year's nominations reflect the talented community of music makers who represent some of the highest levels of excellence and artistry of the year in their respective fields," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy, in a statement.

This year's Grammy Awards process registered more than 22,000 submissions over a 12-month eligibility period (October 1, 2012 - September 30, 2013). Grammy ballots for the final round of voting will be mailed on December 11 to the voting members of The Recording Academy. They are due back to the accounting firm of Deloitte by January 8, 2014, when they will be tabulated and the results kept secret until the 56th Grammy telecast.

The 56th annual Grammy Awards are produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich is executive producer, and Louis J. Horvitz is director.

The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS on Sunday, January 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

A banda de Massachusetts KILLSWITCH ENGAGE liberou o seguinte pronunciamento:
"Temos algumas notícias não tão boas para compartilhar. Nosso baterista, Justin Foley [foto abaixo] recentemente teve um acidente de moto e quebrou sua clavícula. Então ele não poderá comparecer aos shows da Ásia/Europa na próxima semana. Com sorte conseguimos achar um substituto rapidamente, então não precisaremos cancelar nenhuma data. CIRCLE PIT \\ LAMB OF GOD, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TESTAMENT: North American Tour Dates Announced

Longtime friends LAMB OF GOD and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have joined forces for what will undoubtedly be one of the essential "can't-miss" tours of the fall of 2013. The tour launches October 22 in Toronto and canvases much of the U.S and Canada. The two bands are a dominant live pairing, and will combine for 28 North American shows in total. Support for all shows except Los Angeles will be provided by thrash legends TESTAMENT, with HUNTRESS opening all shows.

LAMB OF GOD will end the North American portion of the "Resolution" record cycle with this tour. It will include a coast to coast visit to all major Canadian cities which will be LAMB OF GOD's first visit to Canada on this cycle other than a festival play in June in Montebello and a show in Toronto in January 2012. In the last year, both "Ashes Of The Wake" and "Sacrament" have been certified gold in Canada. LAMB OF GOD will finish the "Resolution" cycle completely with a visit to Europe and South Africa in January 2014. Details on that tour will be released late August.

Released in April, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's sixth album, "Disarm The Descent", debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200; at No. 1 on Hard Rock Chart; and at No. 1 on the Rock Chart. It marked the first album with frontman Jesse Leach at the vocal helm since 2002's now-classic "Alive Or Just Breathing". The album has been warmly embraced and well-received by both fans and the media, as it has just crossed the 100,000-sold mark in only three months of release. Having just wrapped a highly successful U.S summer headline tour, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE look to continue their "Disarm The Descent" record cycle with this fall trek.

Both LAMB OF GOD and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have been wanting to hit the road together for quite some time now and are both excited to finally get the chance. They have also made sure to keep the ticket prices as low as possible so that all of their fans can come out and have a good time with them on this tour.

O Monsters Of Rock confirmou o line-up do festival que acontece nos dias 19 e 20 de outubro em São Paulo na Arena Anhembi.

As bandas confirmadas são: Slipknot, Aerosmith, Korn, Whitesnake, Limp Bizkit, Ratt, Hatebreed, Queensryche, Killswitch Engage, Gojira e Buckcherry.

The Darkest Nights \\ AS I LAY DYING Officially Pulls Out Of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE North American Tour

Due to the recent arrest of their lead singer Tim Lambesis, San Diego metallers AS I LAY DYING have canceled their participation in the upcoming KILLSWITCH ENGAGE North American headlining tour.

Says AS I LAY DYING in a statement: "In light of recent events, AS I LAY DYING will, unfortunately, not be taking part in the upcoming tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. Given the circumstances, we feel that it is best for the band to be off the road while the current situation gets sorted. We'd like to thank all of our fans for their ongoing support at this difficult time."

Lambesis was arrested on may 7 for allegedly hiring someone to kill his estranged wife. He was ordered held on $3 million bail during his arraignment hearing last Thursday and he faces nine years in state prison if convicted.

Prosecutors initially requested that Superior Court Judge Martin Staven set Lambesis' bail at $20 million, saying the singer remains "substantially motivated to kill his wife."

Lambesis was ordered to wear a GPS monitor and turn in his passport and was warned by the judge that, if he is released from jail, he must stay away from his immediate family.

Lambesis' wife, Meggan, filed papers in September 2012 in San Diego Superior Court seeking a dissolution of the couple's marriage.

A banda americana, Killswitch Engage, lançou hoje seu novo single, “In Due Time”.

Em entrevista ao site Metal Blast.net, o baixista do Killswitch Engage, Mike D’Antonio, deu a seguinte declaração sobre a volta do antigo vocalista Jesse Leach, que substituiu Howard Jones e aceitação do fãs para a volta:

Segundo Mike: “Não há uma divisão entre fãs novos e antigos. O que é ótimo e fenomenal. Uma de nossas maiores preocupações era se Jesse conseguiria cantar as músicas de Howard. Isso era uma das coisas que tínhamos que ver por nós mesmos antes de cairmos na estrada. E ele sabia as músicas e simplesmente nos deixou impressionados na audição. Já havíamos testado 15 ou mais pessoas tocando as mesmas três músicas durante 5 horas ou 5 horas e meia. Aí Jesse entrou na sala, tocamos 15 músicas em seguida e percebemos que o espírito e a energia estavam de volta. É só isso que você precisa.”

Há rumores que o vocalista Jesse Leach, que deixou a banda americana Killswitch Engage em 2002, pode voltar a seu antigo posto, já que seu substituto, Howard Jones, saiu da banda no início deste mês.

Em entrevista à revista australiana Loud, Jesse falou o segunte: "Não vou comentar. Todo mundo quer saber...Prefiro que os caras da banda passem pelo o que eles têm que passar e tomem a decisão na hora certa. Eles são meus amigos e quero respeitar o momento pelo qual eles estão passando. E é mais legal e misterioso também. Você não tem que saber tudo. Esses dias todo mundo vive no facebook e no twitter falando de tudo que acontece".

E completou: "O que eu penso é que vou olhar a situação de fora e dar-lhes todo o apoio. Qualquer decisão que eles tomem será a correta e estou ansioso por isso."

Leach pasou a maior parte do ano passado em turnê com a banda Times Of Grace, um projeto seu em conjunto com os membros do Killswitch Engage, Adam Dutkiewicz (guitarra) e Joel Stroeltzel (guitarra). O álbum de estréia do Times Of Grace, "Hymn Of A Broken Man", saiu em janeiro de 2011 pela Roadrunner Records.

Em uma recente entrevista com o "Times Of Grace", Adam Dutkiewicz revelou que pretende começar a escrever o novo album do Killswitch Engage no final do ano, com previsão de lançamento no primeiro semestre de 2012.

Atualmente o baterista Justin Foley está em turnê com o Unearth, divulgando o album "Darkness In The Light". Adam Dutkiewicz, Joel Stroetzel e Mike D'Antonio estão tocando com o Times Of Grace.

Alguns sites especializados em notícias relatam a saída de Howard Jones e a volta de Jesse Leach para a banda, que lançou seu último álbum "Killswitch Engage" em 2009. Neste mesmo ano o grupo passou pela América do Sul, em uma turnê organizada pela Liberation Music Company.

Killswitch Engage drummer Justin Foley will be drumming for Massachusetts metalcore stalwarts Unearth on their upcoming tour dates. Full details inside.

Following on from his stint recording drums on their new album, Killswitch Engage’s Justin Foley has been announced as the beads touring drummer for their upcoming dates on the Mayhem and Hell On Earth festivals respectively.

“It’s great to have Justin on board for Mayhem and Hell On Earth,” says frontman Trevor Phipps. “We really wanted to start this album cycle with Justin behind the kit since he played on and completely slayed the new album. We’ve been friends for a long time and we recorded an album together, so this just makes sense and it gives us even more to look forward to this summer.”

Dayton, Ohio Christian metalcore band THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA has entered Zing Studios in Massachusetts with producer Adam Dutkiewicz (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TIMES OF GRACE) to begin recording its new album. Additional synth/key production will be handled by Joey Sturgis (who has worked on all of the THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA records so far) with further assistance on the vocal production by Jeremy McKinnon (A DAY TO REMEMBER).

Amazing Videos \\ Kids' Cover Of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's 'The End Of Heartache' Posted Online

Several students from the Aaron O'Keefe music-instruction school in Ohio recorded a cover version of the KILLSWITCH ENGAGE song "The End Of Heartache" on August 28, 2010 at the Saint Claire Recording Company in Lexington, Kentucky. You can hear the track as well as watch the accompanying studio footage below.

Commented O'Keefe: "In order to get multiple camera angles, I had the students record the song using a click track. Not only did using the click track help create a better video, but many professional recordings are laid down to a click track.

"Many viewers might wonder why the students aren't jumping around and delivering a great visual performance as well. Playing along with the click track requires a great deal of concentration, so that wouldn't possible for many musicians, especially a bunch of kids....in this case students ranging in age from 13 to 16.

"We attempted to mix the song just like the original recording. All of the effects, levels, etc. are based on the original version."
