"Hey Judas", the new video from BLACK STAR RIDERS, the new band formed by THIN LIZZY alumni Ricky Warwick (guitar, vocals), Damon Johnson (guitar), Scott Gorham (guitar), Marco Mendoza (bass) with new addition Jimmy DeGrasso (ALICE COOPER, MEGADETH, DAVID LEE ROTH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) on drums, can be seen below. "All Hell Breaks Loose" sold around 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 5 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

The "All Hell Breaks Loose" artwork features a painting by Gil Elvgren (March 15, 1914 - February 29, 1980), the legendary U.S. painter best known for his work on pin-up girls, advertising and illustration.

"All Hell Breaks Loose" was recorded and mixed by producer Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, RUSH) at his The Cave studios in Malibu, California. Mastering duties were handled by Bob Ludwig (JIMI HENDRIX, RUSH, KISS, LED ZEPPELIN) at Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine.

The album was released as a standard CD and also as a special-edition digipak featuring a bonus track, "Right To Be Wrong", and a "making-of" DVD.

BLACK STAR RIDERS made its live debut on May 30 at The Marshall Theatre in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. The set featured a mix of music from "All Hell Breaks Loose" along with classic THIN LIZZY tracks.

The artwork ties directly to the origins of the album title. Warwick explains: "I was watching a documentary about World War II bombers and saw the name painted on the side of one of the aircraft. The name just resonated with me and it seem to encapsulate the turmoil that we, as a society, are currently experiencing. The past few years have been such a wild ride and now with the release of the album, it sounded like a bad-ass album title that summed up what BLACK STAR RIDERS is all about."

About the single, Warwick states: "'Bound For Glory' — a song for the lost but never lonely, walking tall in the face of everyday adversary. Everyone has a story to tell. Revolution begins in the mirror!!!" Gorham adds: "When it came time to pick one of these songs as a single, we had a really hard time. There are so many really great tracks here and everyone had their favorites. But in the end, we all agreed that 'Bound For Glory' is the perfect choice and represents what BLACK STAR RIDERS is all about."

In October 2012, THIN LIZZY announced that they would not be recording new material under the THIN LIZZY monicker. The last incarnation of the band — Gorham, Brian Downey, Wharton, Warwick, Johnson and Mendoza — would be looking to form a new project.

According to a press release, Brian Downey decided to not become involved with BLACK STAR RIDERS because he didn't want to commit to the touring cycle a new album would entail and Darren Wharton wanted to concentrate on DARE and other music and film projects.

"Brian and Darren just don't want to be on the road 150 days a year. anti that's completely understandable," Warwick tells Classic Rock magazine. "But we do. We work very well together, and there's no better man than Jimmy to gel it together. This is a kick-ass band."

The BLACK STAR RIDERS album will feature material the band wrote while touring as THIN LIZZY and the sound retains that classic feel but is very much its own as well. The BLACK STAR RIDERS record is the next step in the evolution of the THIN LIZZY story.

"There's no way it could sound like THIN LIZZY with [late THIN LIZZY frontman] Phil [Lynott]," Gorham tells Classic Rock. But Johnson disagreees. "I think Scott is too dose to it," he says. "Ricky or I would bring in a song idea, and as soon as Scott starts playing on it, it sounds like THIN LIZZY, whether Scott realizes it or not. Everybody who's heard the new music says it has that dassic THIN LIZZY vibe. No, it can't sound like the original band. But that classic LIZZY vibe is absolutely there."

"I'm not gonna pull any punches here," says Warwick. "It sounds like classic THIN LIZZY brought up to date. l've been singing Phil's songs every night for two years, and although it sounds a bit crass because the man's not here, I feel like I've had these lessons from getting so deep into his work. Phil's songwriting, his lyrics, his phrasing, his pitching, his delivery — it's genius. And that's really helped me as a writer."

It was Warwick who named the new band BLACK STAR RIDERS, after an outlaw gang in the 1993 western movie "Tombstone". As Johnson tells Classic Rock: "Scott said from the very beginning that we did not want a name that was specifically related to THIN LIZZY, because this band has to stand on its own."

SWEDEN 2013 \\ EUROPE To Be Joined By SCOTT GORHAM, MICHAEL SCHENKER At SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL

Swedish hard rockers EUROPE will be joined by special guests Scott Gorham (BLACK STONE RIDERS, THIN LIZZY) and Michael Schenker (ex-SCORPIONS, UFO) at their 30th-anniversary show at the Sweden Rock Festival, set to take place June 5-8 in Sölvesborg, Sweden. This will be EUROPE's only Swedish performance of the anniversary year and it will be a grandiose event indeed, promises singer Joey Tempest. The stage show will be one of the greatest, if not the greatest of the band's entire career. The setlist will be specially composed from EUROPE's entire nine-album discography, including their cult debut "Europe" (1983), multi-million-seller "The Final Countdown" (1986) and their most recent outing, "Bag Of Bones" (2012), which has now reached gold status in Sweden. The performance will also be filmed for a DVD release, so make sure you'll be present when a piece of Swedish rock history will be both created and preserved for posterity.

For the record: today's version of EUROPE is identical to the classic "The Final Countdown" lineup: Joey Tempest (vocals), John Norum (guitar), John Levén (bass), Mic Michaeli (keyboards) and Ian Haugland (drums).

EUROPE celebrated the 30th anniversary of its appearance at the Swedish rock talent contest Rock-SM on December 13, 2012 by performing the song "In The Future To Come" at Hovet in Stockholm during the Scandianvian leg of their "Bag Of Bones" tour.

In 1982, EUROPE singer Joey Tempest's then-girlfriend entered FORCE (as EUROPE was originally known prior to changing its name) in the Rock-SM contest. Competing against 4000 bands, they performed two songs, "In The Future To Come" and "The King Will Return", and won the contest which resulted in a record deal with Hot Records. Tempest also won the individual award for "Best Lead Singer" while EUROPE guitarist John Norum was honored in the "Best Guitarist" category.

"Bag Of Bones" was released in Europe on April 27, 2012 via earMusic/Edel. The CD, which features a guest appearance by blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), was produced by Kevin Shirley, who has previously worked with IRON MAIDEN, JOE BONAMASSA, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, BLACK STONE CHERRY and JOURNEY, among others.

O Black Star Riders entrará em estúdio em Los Angeles em janeiro de 2013, onde gravarão seu debut álbum com Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Rush).

“Estamos animados com a música que criamos para o Black Star Riders. A sinergia entre os cinco músicos tem sido fenomenal e mal posso esperar para que o mundo ouça estas músicas”, disse Warwick.

O álbum, ainda sem título, será lançado em maio de 2013 via Nuclear Blast.

THIN LIZZY has tapped guitarist Richard Fortus from GUNS N' ROSES as the temporary replacement for Vivian Campbell for all THIN LIZZY live shows while Vivian is back touring and recording with DEF LEPPARD.

Vivian's last show with THIN LIZZY will be at Slane Castle in Ireland on May 28.

Richard (formerly with THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS), pictured second from right, joined the band on stage at their recent Chicago show for two songs (see video below) and will appear with the band at all performances after Slane until further notice.

Commented THIN LIZZY guitarist Scott Gorham: "Richard is a true pro who blew me away the first time I heard him play," talking of the recent appearance in Chicago.

"We literally ran through the songs once in soundcheck and Richard was spot-on. He will make a great addition to the band and look forward to having him on the road with us."

Added THIN LIZZY guitarist/vocalist Ricky Warwick: "Richard, like myself, is a lifelong LIZZY fan, a fantastic guitar player and great guy and I am sure will be welcomed by THIN LIZZY fans everywhere. We all can't wait to get back on the road, so see you all this summer!"

O site HOT PRESS foi informado da morte de GARY MOORE. O lendário guitarrista nascido em Belfast morreu aos 58 anos de idade, durante o sono na noite passada, enquanto estava de férias na Espanha. Não foi divulgada a causa de sua morte.

Um dos maiores guitarristas de sua geração, Gary Moore começou sua carreira profissional na adolescência. Ele tinha apenas dezesseis anos quando se mudou de Belfast para Dublin, em 1969, para juntar-se ao SKID ROW – originalmente uma banda de quatro membros que tinha Brush Shiels no baixo, Nollaig Bridgeman na bateria e Philip Lynott como vocalista, assim como Gary na guitarra solo.

Logo depois, Phillip Lynott foi posto de lado, com Brush e Gary dividindo os vocais, fazendo do Skid Row um power trio do tipo que estava na moda na época, seguindo o sucesso do Rory Gallagher’s Taste e Jimi Hendrix Experience. O Skid Row assinou contrato com a CBS Records e lançou dois discos, Skid em 1970 e 34 Hours em 1971.

Adepto do blues, hard rock e jazz, Moore era também um guitarrista melódico soberbo e apareceu em muitos outros discos irlandeses como participação especial, incluindo gravações do Dr. Strangely Strange, entre outros. Entrevista\\ Thin Lizzy: "Deus do céu, estou no Thin Lizzy", diz vocal

O website “RockAAA” entrevistou Ricky Warwick, o atual frontman da lendária banda irlandesa THIN LIZZY. Warwick, dentre outros assuntos, falou sobre como recebeu o convite para integrar a banda e como se sente em saber que é membro de uma das bandas mais cultuadas da história.

Warwick diz: “Houve momentos em que eu era um fã olhando em volta e pensando: ‘alí está Scott Gorham! Ali está Vivian Campbell! Ali está Brian Downey’! Então me peguei olhando para a logo do Thin Lizzy e pensando: “Meu Deus do céu, eu estou no Thin Lizzy’! Isto ainda me assusta. Eu acho que sempre me assustará”.

Apesar das preocupações iniciais sobre como a idéia iria funcionar, Warwick nunca considerou seriamente recusar a oferta de Gorham para ele se juntar à banda. “Assim que consegui me levantar do chão, eu tinha que fazer isso”, ele explica. “Foi algo gigante ter sido convidado. Muda a vida. Eu já estava bem feliz e tinha uma vida abençoada com meu lance solo. Estava indo bem, tocando por aí, e então isto veio do nada”.

O guitarrista Vivian Campbell conversou com o site Rush On Rock e falou sobre as novidades em sua carreira. Após silenciar sobre o assunto, Campbell também deu uma breve palavra sobre seu ex-companheiro, Ronnie James Dio.

Sobre o futuro com o Def Leppard: "Temos algumas músicas em compasso de espera. Um álbum ao vivo sairá em 2011 e pretendemos colocar duas ou três faixas novas nele. Há planos para um Box-set também. Vai acontecer, mas antes temos que ver algumas coisas contratuais com a Universal. No meio do ano devemos excursionar pela América do Norte."

The Belfast Telegraph reports that almost 25 years after the death of legendary Irish rocker Phil Lynott, THIN LIZZY is set to hit the road again — this time with THE ALMIGHTY frontman Ricky Warwick at the helm.

Warwick, 43, replaces Lynott in the latest reincarnation, joining THIN LIZZY alumni Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton. Also on board are DEF LEPPARD's Vivian Campbell and former WHITESNAKE bassist Marco Mendoza.

Stuart Bailie of the Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast said that while the new THIN LIZZY lineup was great news for Warwick, whom he described as a "100% rocker," he thought the new formation's pedigree "was suspect."

"It's crossing over, really, from reunion to tribute band, so it's something of a hybrid," he said.

"I saw the great THIN LIZZY in the Ulster Hall in 1978 and that memory is still intact. That is the way I want to keep it.

"When you see QUEEN perform with Paul Rodgers on vocals, it is not quite the same experience as seeing the original QUEEN and I'm guessing it will be the same with this lineup, although it does have some of its original lineup.

"What people will be seeing is a photocopy of a photocopy — although I wouldn't knock the guys for doing it. Does it sully Lynott's legacy?

"I'm not sure about that but it's never going to be the same experience without the great man himself."
