Rocknews\\ Scorpions: ex músicos celebram hits da banda em São Paulo

Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Francis Bucholz, Herman Rarebell e Doogie White tem viagem agendada ao Brasil no mês de Junho. O motivo? Um show tributo aos maiores clássicos do Scorpions, banda por onde os músicos citados passaram e fizeram carreiras.

O show da Lovedrive Reunion Tour chega ao palco do HSBC Brasil no dia 22 de Junho e os fãs do Scorpions poderão reviver momentos incríveis junto com os músicos que fizeram parte dos mais de 45 anos de sucesso da banda.

No tributo, Michael Schenker estará nas guitarras ao lado de Uli Jon Roth, que substituiu Schenker no Scorpions. Nos vocais, Doogie White, que cantou no Midnight Blue e Cornerstone, e hoje é a voz do Tank. Na bateria, Herman Rarebell, integrante da banda entre 1977 e 1995 e também compositor de canções como "Another piece of meat" e "Falling in love". E no baixo, Francis Buchholz, que substituiu o baixista Löthar Heimberg em 1973 e fez parte da formação mais bem sucedida dos Scorpions. Nos teclados e guitarras estará ainda Wayne Findlay.

Enquanto o Scorpions atual não volta ao Brasil, presenciar os ex-scorpions em ação pode ser uma maneira de matar as saudades dos grandes clássicos do hard rock/heavy metal da banda alemã.

SWEDEN 2013 \\ EUROPE To Be Joined By SCOTT GORHAM, MICHAEL SCHENKER At SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL

Swedish hard rockers EUROPE will be joined by special guests Scott Gorham (BLACK STONE RIDERS, THIN LIZZY) and Michael Schenker (ex-SCORPIONS, UFO) at their 30th-anniversary show at the Sweden Rock Festival, set to take place June 5-8 in Sölvesborg, Sweden. This will be EUROPE's only Swedish performance of the anniversary year and it will be a grandiose event indeed, promises singer Joey Tempest. The stage show will be one of the greatest, if not the greatest of the band's entire career. The setlist will be specially composed from EUROPE's entire nine-album discography, including their cult debut "Europe" (1983), multi-million-seller "The Final Countdown" (1986) and their most recent outing, "Bag Of Bones" (2012), which has now reached gold status in Sweden. The performance will also be filmed for a DVD release, so make sure you'll be present when a piece of Swedish rock history will be both created and preserved for posterity.

For the record: today's version of EUROPE is identical to the classic "The Final Countdown" lineup: Joey Tempest (vocals), John Norum (guitar), John Levén (bass), Mic Michaeli (keyboards) and Ian Haugland (drums).

EUROPE celebrated the 30th anniversary of its appearance at the Swedish rock talent contest Rock-SM on December 13, 2012 by performing the song "In The Future To Come" at Hovet in Stockholm during the Scandianvian leg of their "Bag Of Bones" tour.

In 1982, EUROPE singer Joey Tempest's then-girlfriend entered FORCE (as EUROPE was originally known prior to changing its name) in the Rock-SM contest. Competing against 4000 bands, they performed two songs, "In The Future To Come" and "The King Will Return", and won the contest which resulted in a record deal with Hot Records. Tempest also won the individual award for "Best Lead Singer" while EUROPE guitarist John Norum was honored in the "Best Guitarist" category.

"Bag Of Bones" was released in Europe on April 27, 2012 via earMusic/Edel. The CD, which features a guest appearance by blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), was produced by Kevin Shirley, who has previously worked with IRON MAIDEN, JOE BONAMASSA, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, BLACK STONE CHERRY and JOURNEY, among others.

Traduza\\ Dokken Guitarist Talks About Possible Michael Schenker/Don Dokken Project

During a recent interview with The Classic Metal Show, Dokken guitarist Jon Levin revealed some details surrounding the rumored project featuring vocalist Don Dokken and guitarist Michael Schenker.

When asked if he would be pissed off if a Don Dokken and Michael Schenker colloboration would piss him off Levin responded, "That's a really good question. When we were in Bulgaria three weeks ago or a month ago, we were really, really jetlagged. At 6am, I was sitting at a breakfast table with Herman Rarebell. There was nobody else around. We were just talking. Then Michael (Schenker) came in. I'm a huge, huge fan of Michael, and he's actually a big influence of mine. I think those influences are apparent on this album ('Boken Bones') as well. He came up to me and said, "We play an acoustical guitar tour together, you and me." I'm looking around like, "Who are you talking to. Me?" And he says, "Yeah, you and I play acoustic guitar together." I was like, "OK." Actually, Don was there, and Michael goes, "And you will sing." I actually didn't know that he was serious. Don thought he was serious. Sure enough, I got a letter from his lawyer a few days after I got home, and he said, "Michael is really excited about this, and can you have Don start working on some music with him," and so on and so forth. We will see."

"That would be a dream for me, because he's one of my favorite players," concludes Levin.

"As datas que seriam realizadas no final do mês de agosto foram canceladas pelo artista Michael Schenker. A produtora que estava encarregada pela turnê do músico, no paí,s informa que os motivos foram alheios a produção.

Um acordo entre a produtora e o agente do grupo já havia sido firmada, quando a uma semana atrás o mesmo veio a informar que o artista simplesmente desistiu de vir ao país sem sequer dar um motivo. A única palavra usada foi um "não". Apesar de esforços realizados o mesmo manteve sua única negativa.

A Advance Work Order, que realizou no ano de 2009 Glenn Hughes e no mês de maio de 2010 a primeira turnê da banda UFO, no Brasil, se sente frustrada e sem entender a intenção de Michael Schenker em cancelar sem nenhum motivo.

Os organizadores pedem que as pessoas que já adquiriram ingressos paras as datas entrem em contato com os locais de venda e com os sites da ticketbrasil (www.ticketbrasil.com.br) e da produtora (www.awo-mkt.com) para pedirem o total reembolso.
