Spanish hard rock act '77 have debuted the first music video from their latest album 'High Decibels'. Directed by Gulliermo A. Chaia and Miquel Francisco, and edited by Miquel Francisco, the "High Decibels" video is being used to promote the album of the same name. Released on November 7th through Listenable Records, 'High Decibels', the follow-up to 2009's '21st Century Rock', went on to reach the Sleaze Roxx Top 10 of 2011.
Founded by the Valeta brothers with the aim of living their musical passion at full volume, '77 reflects an the ideaology and musical concept of the 70s -- an environnement they artistically feel way more comfortable to live in. More than anything, a pure and genuine passion for that great era dwells in their rock 'n' roll souls and it definitely shows in their playing style.
Recordings for their second full-length album started in April under the helm of Nicke 'Royale' Andersson' (ex Nihilist/Entombed, ex Hellacopters, and now Iimperial State Electric) at Gutterview recorders in Stockholm, Sweden. The band described the album as even more 'authentic' than its predecessor, "This album is more electrifying, direct and noisy than the debut with a good old sound, recorded live in the studio without effects, tricks... just the whole band playing in a natural and wild way, you can hear feedbacks, noises, etc."
"High Decibels", the first track of the album, is a song that deals with doing the things you wanna do in your own way and as you want it -- which perfectly represent '77's writing behaviour since the band's early beginnings.
Heavily swamped in the 70s sound, '77 have often be compared to AC/DC -- Bon Scott era -- and the band really don't mind such comparison as their musical behaviour is genuine and pure, each band member live for that kind of vintage sound.
Still, the band walks away a bit from their regular songwriting pattern with the last album track "Promised land" the longest song of the album. The band said, "Its a kinda of "mini opera" with different parts and is about the early days of the band when we lived in London trying to survive and played wherever we could, made no money, and had very little future. There are some different characters and special collaborations, with Nicke and Dregen (Backyard Babies) as guest vocalists."
