A banda norte-americana divulgou, em seu site oficial, o nome do novo baixista para as próximas turnês em 2011. Trata-se de Donnie Steele, que foi guitarrista do SLIPKNOT entre 1995 e 1996.
O anúncio vem dias depois do vocalista do grupo, Corey Taylor, declarar que não via o SLIPKNOT gravando um novo disco ou tocando ao vivo sem Paul Gray. "Donnie estava na banda bem no início e, ao invés de buscarmos alguém de fora, pensamos que tocar com alguém da família seria uma espécie de tributo ao Paul Gray. Donnie e Paul eram grandes amigos e não poderíamos pensar numa melhor forma de homenageá-lo do que trazendo alguém que estava conosco desde o começo. Nós oito estamos ansiosos para voltar aos palcos e honrar o legado de Paul com nossas famílias na Europa e no Brasil", diz a nota no site oficial do grupo.
Além do Rock In Rio no Brasil, o SLIPKNOT tocará no dia 8 de julho no Sonisphere 2011 que contará, além do "Big Four", com WEEZER, LIMP BIZKIT, MOTORHEAD, IN FLAMES, MASTODON e outros.
