San Diego metallers AS I LAY DYING ended 2011, the year of their tenth anniversary as a band, with an extremely successful headlining run. The "Decade Of Destruction Tour" ran November-December through the U.S. While on the road, the band captured live footage from several shows. The footage was edited by the band's own Nick Hipa into what has become the group's next video: "Paralyzed". The video encapsulates AS I LAY DYING in a special moment in time; their tenth-anniversary tour in front of sold-out crowds full of devoted fans.
AS I LAY DYING is currently writing its fifth album and are preparing to enter the studio this April. The producer, title, art and all other details will be released over the next few months. Fans can expect to hear new material this summer as the band performs as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
AS I LAY DYING's latest release, the "Decas" EP — a collection of new tracks, covers, remixes and more — sold 9,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 61 on The Billboard 200 chart. The effort reached No. 2 on the iTunes Rock chart. iTunes also offered a free track ("Paralyzed"), which was downloaded by a staggering 125,000 people in one week.
Meant to tide fans over until the release of the band's hotly anticipated new studio LP (due for release next year), the "Decas" EP marks AS I LAY DYING's decade of making music and features three new songs, three cover songs, remixes, and more.
