Rocknews\\ Poison e Def Leppard farão turnê juntos

O baterista do Poison, Rikki Rockett, confirmou atrvavés da sua página no Facebook que o Poison e o Def Leppard farão uma turnê conjunta no próximo verão nos EUA.

A turnê irá coincidir com o lançamento do filme adaptado do musical da Broadway, Rock Of Ages que é uma história de amor contada através da música de bandas como Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Journey, Poison, Twisted Sister entre outros grandes artistas dos anos 80.

O filme terá a particiação de atores como Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin e Catherine Zeta-Jones, entre outros e tem previsão de lançamento no dia 1º dfe Junho.

Sobre a polêmica que já envolveu as duas bandas em 2009, quando Joe Elliott falou mal do Poison em uma entrevista, o próprio Joe esclareceu: “Foi numa coletiva e foi uma pergunta idiota, de um jornalista idiota, para um vocalista idiota sobre um assunto idiota. Eu estava cansado daquela coletiva e mal ouvia o que estava acontecendo. Eu não disse que o Poison era ruim, só falei que achava que éramos melhores e falaria isso com realção aos Beatles, Stones ou o The Who. Eu tenho o direito de achar que a banda que eu estou é melhor que as outras. Não é arrogância, é confiança. Se perguntassem ao Bret Michaels (vocalista do Poison) a mesma coisa, eu esperaria que ele desse a mesma resposta.”

"She Sells Sanctuary", the international hit from British rock band THE CULT, and Sunshine State rapper Flo Rida's Top 10 smash "Good Feelin'" was featured yesterday (Sunday, February 5) as a mashup in one of Budweiser's Super Bowl commercials.

The one-minute spot is a celebratory romp through several decades of great times in America that begins with the end of Prohibition in 1933.

Written by THE CULT's vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, "She Sells Sanctuary" reached No. 15 on the U.K. chart and was a Top 40 dance hit in the U.S. In a review, one journalist wrote, "Duffy's liquid, quasi-psychedelic guitar intro over a buzz of flanged feedback suddenly rips into a triumphant, driving lead melody that's jaw-dropping."

MÖTLEY CRÜE recently became the first hard rock band to sign a short-term residency at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The CRÜE kicked off a three-week series of four-night concerts a week at the off-Strip casino last night (Friday, February 3), with dates scheduled to run through February 19.

Commented MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx: ""First shows are always cool 'cause they're not perfect and sometimes it feels like the band and crowd are surfing the chaos together.

"We had so much fun last night.

"Back to rehearsal today to work on some more stuff we're adding tonight. So excited for tonight; so many of our friends showing up. Maybe we should pull someone on stage to jam?"

Speaking to USA Today, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil said the show will be more of a spectacle — "something we could not do on a regular tour" when sets have to be put up and pulled down every night. There will be nine dancers, aerialists, plus "a lot of songs MÖTLEY hasn't played in many years," according to Neil, including "Piece Of Your Action".

Neil, guitarist Mick Mars, bassist Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee have big plans for Mötley Crüe In Sin City to create a never-been-done-before and incredibly interactive Vegas experience.

Said Neil, "A lot of the perception is that musicians go there to die ... 'Oh, you guys must be ending your career.' " In reality, Vegas is a happening place where "you can be so creative."

CIRCLE PIT \\ EMMURE: 'Drug Dealer Friend' Performance Video Released

"Drug Dealer Friend", the new performance video from the Queens, New York-based deathcore act EMMURE, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's fourth album, "Speaker Of The Dead", which came out in February 2011 via Victory Records.

EMMURE is preparing to release its fifth full-length album, "Slave To The Game", after re-signing with Victory Records. Due on April 10, the CD was recorded with producer Joey Sturgis (ASKING ALEXANDRIA, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA), who previously worked with the band on "Speaker Of The Dead".

METALLICA/ex-EXODUS guitarist Kirk Hammett, former EXODUS axeman Rick Hunolt and original EXODUS bassist Jeff Andrews all joined the current lineup of EXODUS on stage last night (Saturday, February 4) at a special concert to mark the 10-year anniversary of former EXODUS singer Paul Baloff's passing. Dubbed "Bonded By Baloff: A Decade Of Remembrance", the event took place at the Oakland Metro Operahouse and featured additional performances by POSSESSED, FORBIDDEN and HEATHEN, among others.

Fan-filmed video footage of EXODUS performing their early demo classics "Whipping Queen" and "Impaler" during last night's concert — with guest appearances by Hammett, Hunolt and Andrews — can be seen below.

It was a decade ago — on January 31, 2002 — that Paul Baloff suffered a major stroke and was brought to Highland General Hospital in Northern California, where he remained in a coma until he was declared brain dead. On February 2, 2002, his doctors shut off his life support, leaving him to die in his sleep. He had no previous known health problems, and the stroke was a complete surprise to everyone around him.

Regarding EXODUS' decision to stage this concert, the band's guitarist Gary Holt said, "With February 2nd being the 10-year anniversary of Paul's passing, the band knew it was high time we do something special to remember the legend of Paul Baloff, so we decided to put together a show the Bay Area will not soon forget. We've pulled some of the Bay's finest for this, bands who knew and shared many a stage and drink with Pavel. There are some nice surprises in store as well! It will be ten years and two days since the thrash world lost one of its greatest frontmen ever, and we will always make sure his memory lives on and is never forgotten. Long live The Destroyer!"

Added FORBIDDEN guitarist and founding member Craig Locicero: "Everyone in FORBIDDEN is honored to have been asked by Gary and EXODUS to play this show marking the 10th anniversary of Paul Baloff's crazy fucking life! I witnessed his insanity first-hand at the Mabouhay Gardens and Ruthie's Inn. As EXODUS got bigger, Paul got crazier — in a good way. It was genius at work. He was the mold that all thrash frontmen cut themselves from, but he was also a pretty damn sweet guy. Always kind to those he liked, he'd be in the front row at FORBIDDEN gigs screaming things like 'Why does it have to be so heavy?' and my favorite, 'Heavier than time!' I'm laughing just typing this!

"At his memorial, I saw people I hadn't seen in years. So much love, so many laughs. It made me happy in some strange way just to see that kind of respect displayed for Paul. We all really loved him. Luckily his legend has returned with a vengeance… and hey, Paul, you did it: You've become heavier than time!"

"Let There Be Blood", the controversial re-recording of EXODUS' classic 1985 debut album, "Bonded by Blood", was issued in October 2008 through Zaentz Records.

Regarding the band's decision to re-record "Bonded By Blood", Holt previously said: "It is our way of paying homage to Paul Baloff by showing how relevant these songs we had written together still are. We aren't trying to replace the original; that's impossible anyway. We are just giving these songs the benefit of modern production. It's something we talked about before Paul's death and it's always been important to us to do. We were super-excited about entering the studio once again to record these classics." Current EXODUS vocalist Rob Dukes added, "Paul was rad, totally original. He was not like [METALLICA's James] Hetfield or [SLAYER's Tom] Araya. I think at times he wanted to be, but he was simply himself. He had a really cool way of going up with his voice in the weirdest spots. I, myself, find it cool and original."

Um usuário do site de compartilhamento de vídeos YouTube registrado sob a alcunha de CrueFanatic69 postou, nessa quinta-feira (02/02/12) um vídeo nunca antes lançado – pelo menos comercialmente – dos bastidores da turnê itinerante CRÜE FEST de 2008, capitaneada pelo – duh! – MÖTLEY CRÜE.

O vídeo, de cerca de 15 minutos de duração, traz entrevistas com os quatro membros originais VINCE NEIL, NIKKI SIXX, TOMMY LEE e MICK MARS, fazendo declarações muito pertinentes sobre seu estilo de vida, o que rola depois dos shows da banda, imagens de fãs mais ‘ferrenhos’ do grupo, e claro, muita cachaça, mulher pelada e gritaria, o que deve ter tornado o registro, digamos, ‘impróprio’ para distribuição via mídias mais farofa como MTV e VH1.

MEDA \\ Adam Lambert é o novo vocalista do Queen

Adam Lambert, segundo colocado do reality show musical American Idol de 2009, vai assumir o posto de vocalista do Queen. O cantor já havia se apresentando com a banda em novembro, durante o European Music Awards, premiação da MTV. "É para manter a música viva. Isso é para os fãs", disse Lambert em entrevista ao tabloide britânico Daily Star. "E dar uma energia a elas da qual Freddie Mercury teria orgulho”, completou.

Segundo informações do jornal, a reestreia do grupo será no festival Sonisphere, marcado para acontecer entre os dias 6 e 8 de julho na Europa. "Após o EMA, eu ouvi algumas pequenas reclamações de pessoas que disseram: 'Você não pode substituir Freddie Mercury'. Mas eu já sabia isso", disse Lambert. "Eu não tenho intenção de substituí-lo. Isso é impossível."

Sobre a possibilidade do Queen lançar um disco de inéditas com Lambert no vocal, o músico disse que ainda não houve uma discussão a respeito, mas afirmou estar preparado. "Eu estaria tranquilo em gravar com Brian May e Roger Taylor. Ser chamado para ser frontman do Queen é a melhor coisa que pôde acontecer."

Queensyrche e Fates Warning no Brasil \\ Mike Portnoy tocará com a banda em SP

A produtora Free Pass Entretenimento informa que o renomado ex-baterista do Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy, será o músico convidado na primeira aparição da banda Fates Warning no Brasil. O evento, que será realizado no dia 14 de abril (sábado) no HSBC Brasil, em São Paulo (SP), será um marco para todos os fãs do Prog Metal e terá como atração principal o Queensryche, que comemora trinta anos de carreira.

Fã declarado do Fates Warning, que se apresentará pela primeira vez no país com Ray Alder (vocal), Jim Matheos e Frank Aresti (guitarras), Joey Vera (baixo), Portnoy já teve a oportunidade de se apresentar anteriormente com o grupo, que é considerado um dos pioneiros na incorporação do Metal ao Rock Progressivo, estilo que depois ficou mundialmente conhecido como Prog Metal. O baterista também gravou o EP "A Twist Of Fate" (2003) com o vocalista Jon Arch (ex-Fates Warning) e tocou no projeto OSI, do guitarrista Jim Matheos.

Entrevista\\ Lamb Of God: vocalista agradece fãs pelo sucesso de vendas

O vocalista Randy Blythe dos metaleiros de Richmond, Virginia do LAMB OF GOD, comentou a respeito da notícia de que o último álbum da banda, "Resolution", vendeu cerca de 52.000 cópias nos Estados Unidos em sua primeira semana de lançamento chegando à 3ª posição da tabela The Billboard 200.

O CD anterior do LAMB OF GOD, "Wrath", abriu com cerca de 68.000 unidades em março de 2009 entrando na tabela na posição No. 2. Esse número esteve bem próximo do cômputo de primeira semana registrado pelo "Sacrament", de 2006, que alcançou 63.000 unidades estreando na posição No. 8.. Isso também representou quase o dobro de quantidade de discos vendidos pelo seu predecessor, "Ashes Of The Wake", que estreou com 35.000 cópias em setembro de 2004.

Em uma série de mensagens em sua conta do Twitter Randy escreveu, "Obrigado a todas pessoas nos cumprimentando pela posição #3 nos E.U.A pelo 'Resolution'. É bem legal – estamos orgulhosos do disco! Isso confirma algo que (o guitarrista) Mark Morton e eu temos dito há alguns anos na imprensa, tentando explicar às pessoas sobre a diferença dos fãs do metal/hardcore — que a música é muito mais um ESTILO DE VIDA do que a 'música' pop comum. Estar envolvido nesse cenário é mais profundo do que apenas músicas – é prover um grupo social, acredito, composto principalmente de gente que pensa DIFERENTE do status quo."

"Para mim, chegar ao cenário hardcore/punk foi muito mais do que apenas discos – foi ter amigos onde eu não tinha nenhum, uma fuga da baboseira da vida normal de que eu já estava totalmente de saco cheio. Premiere\\ PUSCIFER: 'Telling Ghosts' Video Released

"Telling Ghosts", the new video from PUSCIFER, the eclectic music-meets-comedy troupe helmed by Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, A PERFECT CIRCLE), can be seen below. The clip was shot by Tim Cadiente (Barton Perreira) and Meats Meier (3D Art Space) and was edited by Mat Mitchell.

"Telling Ghosts" comes off PUSCIFER's sophomore album "Conditions Of My Parole", which was released last October via Puscifer Entertainment.

PUSCIFER will perform on the Thursday, February 16 episode of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (which will actually air the morning of Friday, February 17).

PUSCIFER will return to the road on February 23 in support of "Conditions Of My Parole".

The band's live performances are not to be missed. Keenan brings the unconventional atmosphere of the Verde Valley to life with a musically driven evening that merges technology, quirky characters and comedy. The Boston Globe referred to the shows as "musical theater" and the Philadelphia Weekly described the set as an "engaging performance with hilarious pre-recorded between-song skits featuring MJK alter-egos Major Douche and white-trash hero Billy D."

The band celebrated the release of their sophomore album with an in-character Halloween performance on "The Late Show With David Letterman".

Rocknews\\ Prefeita de Las Vegas cria o 'Mötley Crüe Day'

Para honrar as 3 semanas seguidas com 4 shows por semana em Las Vegas da banda de Hard Rock Mötley Crüe, a prefeita da cidade Carolyn Goodman estabeleceu essa sexta-feira, dia 03 de Fevereiro de 2012, como “Mötley Crüe Day”.

O vocalista Vince Neil, que já havia adiantado que os shows seriam especiais, já disse em entrevista ao jornal Las Vegas Sun que haverá inclusive uma bateria no formato de montanha russa e até uma versão da banda formada apenas por anões.

Vince prometeu algo como um Cirque Du Soleil do Rock com coisas acontecendo por todos os cantos do local do show e não apenas no palco.

O vocalista afirmou que é como uma versão muito maior do show contido no DVD "Carnival Of Sins".

E claro,tem a música. Vince Neil disse que haverá uma parte acústica no show com várias músicas tocadas muito raramente ao vivo, além de versões diferentes para músicas antigas que estão sendo ensaiadas.

RUMOURS\\ Jimmy Gnecco: o possível novo vocalista do Velvet Revolver

O nome de Jimmy Gnecco está em evidência nos últimos tempos. Cotado para ser o novo vocalista do Velvet Revolver, o cantor e compositor americano, nascido na cidade de New Jersey, passou a ser mais conhecido no Brasil atualmente, mas, sua carreira, começou há bastante tempo.

Quando ainda era um adolescente, fazia parte de uma banda chamada Harmony Bandits. Mas, oficialmente, o início musical deu-se com a criação da banda Ours, em 1992, com quem lançou três álbuns. Em 2010, Jimmy lançou The Heart, um trabalho solo.

A seguir, em uma entrevista exclusiva, Jimmy Gnecco conta um pouco mais sobre a carreira, relação com os fãs, o futuro com o Velvet Revolver e projetos, incluindo, um novo CD do Ours.

Conte para nós quem é Jimmy Gnecco. Como você se definiria?

Eu sou uma pessoa que está tentando ser feliz e, neste processo, também desejo que os outros sejam felizes. Eu tenho muitas falhas, como qualquer pessoa, mas batalho para melhorá-las.

Como sua música evoluiu com o passar dos anos?

Quando comecei a escrever músicas eu era ambicioso. Eu queria que tudo fosse único, quase uma obra de arte. Mas, assim que lancei meu primeiro disco, eu simplifiquei o processo. A partir de então, estou tentando criar um balanço harmonioso entre canções com arranjos complexos e mais simples. Gosto de ambos os tipos, acredito que esse equilíbrio sempre existirá em mim.

Você decidiu rescindir o contrato com uma grande gravadora e optar por outra independente (os discos dos Ours foram lançados pela DreamWorks Records e Columbia). Foi uma decisão difícil de ser tomada?

Não, não foi muito difícil. Nós do grupo percebemos que não estávamos recebendo a ajuda necessária que uma grande gravadora deveria fornecer. Claro, nossa experiência com as duas grandes gravadoras agregou muito para nossa experiência, o produtor Rick Rubin foi incrível conosco. Mas, o problema ia além de seu controle. Minha esperança era encontrar uma gravadora que não se portasse exatamente como uma gravadora tradicional. Até tentamos uma forma de nos adaptar dentro daquele sistema, mas não deu certo.

Com o lançamento do CD Heart (pela gravadora Bright Antenna), você fez muitos shows solo, sem nenhuma banda de apoio. Como foi a experiência?

Eu gosto de fazer shows acústicos em eventos especiais, mas minha paixão de verdade é tocar com a banda.

Você é o compositor de todas as músicas do Ours. Por que decidiu lançar um álbum solo?

Eu só queria fazer algo diferente do que tínhamos acabado de fazer com “Mercy” (disco mais recente do Ours). Era hora de mudar. Mas, já estou pronto de novo para a bateria e guitarras plugadas!

Como foi a turnê com A-HA (Jimmy e a banda Ours se apresentaram com o trio norueguês em alguns países da Europa, em 2010). Como surgiu a ideia dessa reunião?

Foi simplesmente incrível. Quando o A-HA anunciou sua turnê final nós da banda decidimos perguntar se podíamos ir junto. A resposta foi sim!

Como é sua relação com os fãs e o que você pensa deles?

Bem, como compositor, quando eu escrevo uma canção “vinda” do meu coração e as pessoas se reconhecem nela, isso me faz sentir muito perto deles. É como se tivéssemos passado por algo juntos.

O Ours vai lançar um novo CD em breve?

Nós já estamos trabalhando em estúdio para a gravação do novo CD do Ours. Espero que a gente termine ainda esse ano.

Todo mundo está curioso em saber: afinal, você será o novo vocalista do Velvet Revolver?

Atualmente, eu e o pessoal do VR estamos trabalhando com várias ideias. Vamos ver se podemos fazer algo grande em conjunto. Esse é o primeiro passo.

Você se preocupa com alguma possível resistência dos fãs do Velvet Revolver em relação a você? Ou o contrário, do Ours em relação ao VR?

Se eu sou capaz de escrever canções bacanas com o pessoal do Velvet Revolver, eu espero que tenha o bastante de mim nelas para que os fãs do Ours possam sentir uma conexão também. Eu não quero ficar muito preocupado se os fãs vão gostar de mim, nesse momento, porque isso pode prejudicar meu processo criativo. Tudo o que eu posso esperar são grandes músicas e mentes abertas.

Você gostaria de tocar no Brasil?

Sim, eu amaria tocar no Brasil algum dia!

Rocknews\\ Black Sabbath: Bill Ward ameaça abandonar reunião

O baterista Bill Ward emitiu a seguinte carta pública:

Queridos fãs do Sabbath, amigos músicos e partes interessadas

Adoraria ser possível continuar com o álbum e turnê da banda. No entanto, não posso continuar enquanto um contrato “assinável” não seja estabelecido. Algo que reflita dignidade e respeito que eu mereça como membro original. Ano passado, trabalhei acreditando na boa fé de Tony, Ozzy e Geezer. Em 11 de novembro, mais uma vez confiando, participei da coletiva de imprensa em Los Angeles. Dias atrás, após quase um ano de negociações, outro contrato desrespeitoso me foi oferecido.

Apesar de ter dado um passo atrás, ainda estou de malas prontas para deixar os Estados Unidos e ir para a Inglaterra. Definitivamente quero tocar no disco e excursionar. Desde que a doença de Tony foi descoberta e a notícia da mudança da banda para o Reino Unido, fiquei em estado de alerta para viajar. Tentei descobrir o que estava acontecendo e descobri que estava sendo deixado para trás (não pela primeira vez, devo acrescentar). Tenho a impressão que, se não assinar aquele contrato, não saberei de nada.

Mesmo querendo participar, devo manter uma postura e não assinar algo com o qual não concorde. Se fizer isso, estarei perdendo direitos, dignidade e respeitabilidade como músico. Acredito na liberdade de expressão. Cresci em uma banda de Hard Rock/Metal, que tocava de coração, com honestidade e sinceridade. Me envolvo no espírito da integridade, longe de questões burocráticas. Sou real, honesto, justo e apaixonado pelo que faço.

Se acabar sendo substituído, ao menos poderei continuar vos encarando como fãs dedicados. Espero que não me responsabilizem se a reunião da formação original não acontecer como prometido. Sem nenhuma sensação de culpa, quero assegurar que minha lealdade ao Sabbath segue intacta. Essa é a minha verdade. Estou pronto para ir SE me oferecerem um contrato justo. Não quero desapontar ninguém. Será muito triste se algo não acontecer pelos desejos alheios.

Minha posição não é sustentada pela ganância. Não quero simplesmente mais dinheiro, como se fosse uma chantagem. Apenas quero reconhecimento às minhas contribuições, incluindo a reunião de quatorze anos atrás. Depois daquela turnê jurei a mim mesmo que jamais assinaria um contrato que me prejudicasse. Quero respeito por mim e minha família. Algo que honre o que fiz pelo Sabbath desde o começo.

In the spot, titled "Drive the Dream", the new 2012 Optima Limited races through a Gen X couple's wildest thoughts as they sleep, including: Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima waving the checkered flag at a speedway; an in-your-face MÖTLEY CRÜE concert; mixed martial arts legend Chuck Liddell battling in the ring; a heroine and hunk on horseback in a romance novel setting; champion bull rider Judd Leffew taming a bucking rhinoceros; and a fairy tale ending.

Kia returns to the big game for the third straight year with a fully integrated marketing campaign incorporating TV, cinema, digital, print, social media and in-dealership components. In a Super Bowl advertising first, the complete "Drive the Dream" ad will premiere on February 2 on more than 18,000 movie screens nationwide in National CineMedia's FirstLook pre-show program before airing in the game. The one-minute spot is a celebratory romp through several decades of great times in America that begins with the end of Prohibition in 1933.

Written by THE CULT's vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, "She Sells Sanctuary" reached No. 15 on the U.K. chart and was a Top 40 dance hit in the U.S. In a review, one journalist wrote, "Duffy's liquid, quasi-psychedelic guitar intro over a buzz of flanged feedback suddenly rips into a triumphant, driving lead melody that's jaw-dropping."

"Choice Of Weapon", THE CULT's first new studio album in five years, will be released on May 22 (Cooking Vinyl), and the band — Asbury, Duffy, drummer John Tempesta, and bassist Chris Wyse — will tour extensively in support of it.

David E. Gehlke of Blistering.com recently conducted an interview with one of the "Nameless Ghouls" from the mysterious Swedish buzz band GHOST. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Blistering.com: The whole aspect of the band being anonymous is crucial to what GHOST is about. Does it wear you out having to go to all of these lengths to conceal your identity?

The Nameless Ghoul: Yes and no. On a day-to-day basis when we are home, it can be slightly irritating at times when you have to justify what you are doing. Some of us in the band have experienced people telling us we have to quit our jobs. It's hard to justify quitting your job because you're pursuing a musical career, but nobody knows what band you're in [laughs]. So it gives you an enormous loser tag right in your forehead and you have to say that with the loser tag, and you just fight it [laughs]. That's one of the weird perks to being in this band. There's a lot of people in your immediate surrounding that you don't share a lot of information with. Being away for months at a time, obviously that's weird when people don't' know what you're doing. On the positive side, you can be released of a lot the negative aspect of being semi-famous or recognized. Some things we are missing out on, but I'm glad to not be a part of that. I prefer being my own individual and doing things with my friends. Fortunately, I'm doing this with a lot of my friends and whenever we choose to step outside of the bubble, we can easily do so. We don't need to be entertainers or members of the band; nobody expects us to jump onstage the bar. Nobody knows…we could pass as roadies and it would be perfect.

Blistering.com: Living in the age of the Internet, it's really easy to get information on just about anyone. Are you worried about information being leaked on you guys?

The Nameless Ghoul: As long as we don't state publicly who we might be, we really don't see it as a huge problem. We're not on a worldwide "above-the-radar" basis. We're still virtually unknown as a band, much different than in a Paris Hilton sort of way [laughs]. As long as we don't have that as an attraction, there's really not much [reason] in this group to unfold our true identities. Like a public statement would have to rely on us coming out, and as long as we don't do that, we can keep on… not even denying, but not even commenting on rumors or what people say.

Blistering.com: What's the status on the follow-up to [GHOST's debut album] "Opus Eponymous"?

The Nameless Ghoul: Most of the material has been written already. Throughout the production and writing, we've been using the word "divine" a lot. Whereas with the first album, the sound was slightly "wooden," we want the new album to be stone and golden in terms of being lavished and divine. So we are trying to paint an even more solemn religion and there's all sorts of dramatic steps forward. The first album is about the arrival of the anti-Christ, about a coming darkness. The new album will about a current darkness, the presence of the devil, how it relates to divinity and how it's futile you grasp whatever is divine.

Blistering.com: Considering how successful "Opus Eponymous" was, are you prepared for what should be some extremely high expectations for this album?

The Nameless Ghoul: I can't honestly say, but I think our sort of relaxed distance from what we're doing professionally might show that we're pretty well fit for survival. You never know. We are humans as well and we're trying to make a record that's supposed to be better than something a lot of people like, of course there's some pressure. You deliberately have to try to want to remember why you are doing this in the first place. With the first album, no one had any clue about us. So I think we'll manage to do it; I think the new album will hopefully as confronting and polarizing as the first one. If it's not, then it will be a waste of everyone's time if we try to do 10 more "Rituals".

O conselho municipal de Birmingham está discutindo sobre o fato da cidade declarar um dia oficial do Black Sabbath em homenagem ao grupo que definiu os pilares do Heavy Metal e que fará uma reunião com a formação clássica no Download Festival, neste ano.

Com isso, a Metal Hammer Britância, uma das principais revistas de Metal no mundo, iniciou uma campanha para fazer com que o Dia Oficial do Black Sabbath se torne uma realidade, e para isso criaram uma página para a Campanha no Facebook. Entrevista\\ Banda convoca Bob Rock para a produção

No dia 22 de maio, o THE CULT lançará ‘Choice of Weapon’, o primeiro disco de estúdio do grupo em cinco anos. Para o novo compêndio, o colaborador e produtor de longa data da banda, Bob Rock «Metallica, Mötley Crüe», que produziu um dos álbuns mais bem-sucedidos da banda, ‘Sonic Temple’ «1989», deu os toques finais nas fundações que foram construídas pelo co-produtor Chris Goss «Queens of the Stone Age».

“Se eu não estava em turnê com o The Cult, eu estava fazendo muita jardinagem, e ficava em casa sendo um feliz dono-de-casa”, disse rindo o guitarrista Billy Duffy ao site Noisecreep sobre os cinco anos desde o último álbum da banda, ‘Born Into This’, de 2007.

O site Noisecreep teve a felicidade de ouvir algumas faixas de ‘Choice of Weapon’ e viu os veteranos roqueiros peneirarem as mesmas texturas musicais dos supralançados ‘Sonic Temple’ e ‘Between Good and Evil’ «2001». ‘Nós começamos o novo disco com Chris «Gross» e daí tivemos conflitos de agenda com ele. Também achamos que fomos muito longe com algumas dessas faixas, mas não conseguíamos ir até o fim, então Ian «Astbury, o vocalista» achou que Bob Rock poderia ajudar-nos com isso.’

“Eu tenho certeza que poderíamos ter feito isso com Chris também, mas por um momento, nós precisamos daquela perspectiva nova que Bob trouxe. Já fizemos quatro discos com Bob, então ele sabe como funcionamos, e como fazer as coisas”, diz Duffy.

’Choice of Weapon’ foi escrito por Duffy e Astbury, gravado em Nova Iorque, Los Angeles, no deserto do Califórnia e no estúdio Witch Mountain, de propriedade da banda entre julho e dezembro de 2011. A banda também conta agora com o baterista John Tempesta «Testament, Helmet» e o baixista Chris Wyse «Owl».

“O que fazemos com o The Cult é ir e tentar fazer com que as canções se tornem o que elas são. É como crianças em idade escolar, você tentar dar boas orientações a elas, mas elas vão acabar fazendo o que querem. No fim das contas, você só tem que ceder poder. Você quer capturar um sentimento e documentar a época na qual você escreveu a música. Você não quer exagerar, ou você acaba com algo tipo ‘Chinese Democracy’. Entende o que eu digo?”

SEFOTEU\\ Lynch Mob Quickly Part With Vains Of Jenna Singer And Reunite With Oni Logan

ust last week former Dokken guitarist George Lynch revealed that Vains Of Jenna frontman Jesse Forte would be the new Lynch Mob vocalist. The announcement led to Vains Of Jenna calling it quits by saying that they were ending the band after seven years. However it now appears that Lynch and Oni Logan have put aside their differences to teamed up once agin.

Says Jesse Forte, "I actually wont be working with George on Lynch Mob. He informed me over the phone that he and Oni have reconciled and have decided to continue on. I wish them the best. Stay tuned for my next project."

Lynch and Logan, who reformed Lynch Mob to release the 2009 comeback album 'SMoke And Mirrors', fell out in July of 2010 when Logan failed to show up for Houston, Texas gig. "Oni let the band and our fans down," Lynch stated at the time. "He quit the band at 5:30 am before our 7:30 am scheduled flight. He left us high and dry and did not fulfill his commitment. We are saddened and disappointed - but as a band, we are committed to honoring our obligations."

Unknown Chris Romero was quickly flown in to handle vocal duties on the first two dates of that tour, while Chaz West of Bonham replaced Logan on the remainign tour dates.

In March of 2010 Forte joined Vains Of Jenna when original vocalist Lizzy DeVine departed by saying, "I must move on and let the band grow." The original musical core of the group -- Nicki Kin, JP White and Jacki Stone -- took their new voice and hit the studio in July 2010. The outcome was the EP 'We Can Never Die', followed by the April 2011 release 'Reverse Tripped', a 14 song covers album that included the hit single "F**k You".
