Premiere\\ PICTURE: 'Warhorse' Video Released

"Warhorse", the new video from the reactivated '80s Dutch metal band PICTURE, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the group's latest album, which was released in February 2012 via Artist Station Records. The CD was mixed by Oscar Holleman, who has previously worked with WITHIN TEMPTATION and AFTER FOREVER, among others.

PICTURE recently announced the return of guitarist Andre Wullems to the group's ranks. Along with Chriz van Jaarsveld, Andre was the guitarist in PICTURE during the promotion period for the album "Traitor" back in 1985 and played live with PICTURE on a number of occasions in the past.

Commented PICTURE in a statement: "We're really pleased that Andre deceided to join the ranks again and we're looking forward to touring with him throughout Europe with the 'Warhorse' tour. We played with Andre for some time in the past and we knew his capabilities on guitar. It's great to have a familiar member of the band return. Together with Mike Ferguson, they form a formidable guitar duo."

PICTURE supported AC/DC, TED NUGENT and SAXON in the Netherlands. With SAXON, they did a full European tour in 1981. Later on they toured with ROSE TATTOO in Germany and headlined tours in Italy and Israel.

Premiere\\ THE WINERY DOGS: 'Desire' Video Released

"Desire", the second video from THE WINERY DOGS, the new project featuring Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ADRENALINE MOB), Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG) and Richie Kotzen (MR. BIG, POISON), can be seen below. The song comes off the band's self-titled debut album, which will be released in Japan on May 15 via Victor Entertainment. The CD was mixed by Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX, ADRENALINE MOB, STONE SOUR and STEEL PANTHER. Sheehan previously stated about the effort: "I'm really pleased with it. Richie sang his ass off and played amazingly unique stuff, and, of course Mike annihilated on drums. [It's a] really cool, unique record."

Regarding how THE WINERY DOGS got its name, Portnoy said: "It was Richie's name. We had a list of about 50 names. I had about 10 that I preferred over THE WINERY DOGS, but you know, when you're in a band, you have to give and take and choose your battles, and Richie really, really loved this band name. So, you know, it was, like, 'OK.' A name is a name. If you feel that strongly about it, then go for it. So that's who we are."

THE WINERY DOGS will kick off its world tour by playing two shows in Japan this summer: July 16 in Osaka and July 17 in Tokyo. Dates for the rest of the world will be announced soon.

At the end of 2011, Portnoy and Sheehan tapped Kotzen to be the guitarist/vocalist of their new project following the departure of John Sykes (WHITESNAKE, BLUE MURDER, THIN LIZZY).

Although Portnoy and Sykes demoed a dozen or so songs at a Los Angeles studio in 2011, their vastly different work ethics and conflicting schedules were solely to blame for the dissolution of their collaboration.

During an interview that aired on the July 13, 2012 edition of Eddie Trunk's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM, Portnoy said, "I love John personally, and we get along great — he's a sweetheart of a guy — but I need to keep moving. I can't sit still and kind of wait to make an album over the next three years, I need to put things on the calendar and move forward and get them done, and John's kind of just a 'wait, wait, wait' guy. Sadly, it kind of just stopped in its tracks, and Billy and I said, 'Look, let's do something.' And you [Eddie] were the one, actually, that suggested Richie Kotzen and I thought it was a brilliant suggestion, because he's an unbelievably underrated talent, not only [as] a guitar player but a phemonal singer, and just an amazing songwriter and artist. I think people just kind of lump him, or write him off as the guy that was with POISON and MR. BIG. I think they have no idea what he's really capable of."

When asked to describe the musical direction of the project, Portnoy said, "It's a classic-rock kind of power-trio sound. If you picture the classic-rock bands of… the classic ones — [LED] ZEPPELIN, CREAM, [JIMI] HENDRIX, GRAND FUNK [RAILROAD] — if you take that classic-rock power-trio sound of the early '70s, and then you sprinkle it on top with some of the modern kind of sounds of SOUNDGARDEN and ALICE IN CHAINS or BLACK CROWES or LENNY KRAVITZ… It's in that vein; it's kind of a [mixture] of all of those bands. But on top of it all you've got the phenomenal playing that Richie and Billy do, and I could play a couple of things on the drums as well [chuckles], so... And all three of us are singing — Richie is the lead vocalist, obviously, but me and Billy are also singing."

The video for the song "Transference" from Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM can be seen below. The album was mixed at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki.

"Bulls In The Bronx", the new video from the California-based progressive post-hardcore band , can be seen below. The clip was directed by Drew Russ and was shot on location in Pasadena. The video finds the band performing their incendiary anthem live in a 100-year-old house as two young lovers meet in secret and are transported into a bull-fighting dream world only to have their rendezvous interrupted by an enraged father.

"I really wanted to have a story people could relate to, as well as have a fun supernatural element to fit the bridge of the song," Russ recently told MTV.com. "To me, this is such a standout song, and when the bridge hits, it almost transports the listener to another place. I really wanted to represent that on camera."

"Bulls In The Bronx" is the third video from PIERCE THE VEIL's third album, "Collide With The Sky", which has sold 121,000 copies since its July 2012 release.

The video's release comes on the heels of news that PIERCE THE VEIL's entire month-long "Spring Fever Tour" with co-headliner ALL TIME LOW plus MAYDAY PARADE and YOU ME AT SIX has completely sold out all dates, including the May 3 show at Sears Centre Arena in Chicago (7,000 capacity) and the concert in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium (3,700 capacity), with combined tickets sold reaching over 87,000.

SWEDEN 2013 \\ Europe's Largest Collection Of MÖTLEY CRÜE Memorabilia To Be Displayed At Sweden's ROCKMÄSSAN

The largest collection of MÖTLEY CRÜE memorabilia in Europe will be displayed at this year's edition of the Swedish metal convention Rockmässan, which will be held at the Sweden Rock Festival, set to take place June 5-8 in Sölvesborg, Sweden. The collection includes stage clothes (such as Nikki Sixx’s classic black-and-white dotted dress from the "Theatre Of Pain" tour and the straitjacket Nikki wore on the cover of "Dr. Feelgood"), instruments, awards, unique, never-before-seen photos, personal stuff from the members and much more.

Rockmässan will have a 240-square-meter tent at Sweden Rock, where you will be able to have your picture taken by a professional photographer with some of the artists performing at the festival and get autographs by artists and other rock icons.

"C'mon Take On Me", the new video from Swedish sleaze rockers HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, can be seen below. The clip was once again directed by René U Valdes and produced by Greenworks Television.

"C'mon Take On Me" is the title track of HARDCORE SUPERSTAR's new album, which was released in Europe on March 1 via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2010's "Split Your Lip" was produced by the bandmembers themselves and mixed by Randy Staub (METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE CULT).

The Darkest Nights\\ AS I LAY DYING Frontman Pleads Not Guilty In Murder-For-Hire Case

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, AS I LAY DYING frontman Tim Lambesis, who is accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife, pleaded not guilty earlier today (Thursday, May 9) to a felony charge of solicitation of murder and was ordered held on $3 million bail. He faces nine years in state prison if convicted.

At Lambesis' arraignment in Vista Superior Court in Vista, California, Deputy District Attorney Claudia Grasso said that the musician told someone at a gym that he wanted his wife dead. He allegedly met with an undercover agent posing as a hitman, who asked Lambesis if he wanted his wife gone, and Lambesis replied, "Yes, that's what I want." Lambesis then gave the agent an envelope containing $1,000 in cash with detailed instructions — including pictures of his wife, her address and the code to get through a gate and dates when the "hit" could take place; when he had his children, saying that would be his alibi on how to kill his estranged wife.

The prosecutor argued at the arraignment — which was attended by Tim's family, fans, AS I LAY DYING manager and band lawyer — that Lambesis be held on $20 million bail, but his defense attorney countered that the amount was unreasonable.

Defense attorney Anthony Salerno said afterward that he believed his client may have been the victim of a setup. "Law enforcement was fed something by someone who effectively orchestrated the whole thing ... [Tim] did not intend to harm anybody," said the lawyer, who added that someone may have given false information about Lambesis to authorities in order to "save his own skin." "If I had to hang a tag on it, I'd call it a scumbag snitch setup," he said.

A readiness conference has been scheduled for June 10 with a preliminary hearing to follow on July 10.

Lambesis' wife Meggan filed for divorce in September, citing "irreconcilable differences." The couple, who had been married for eight years and were separated at the time, had adopted two girls at ages 6 and 8 in 2011 and a 1-year-old boy in 2009, all from Ethiopia.

The relationship suffered a major blow last August when Tim sent an email to his wife saying he no longer loved her and did not want to be with her anymore. He also wrote that he no longer believed in God, the prosecutor said.

Tim Lambesis was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday (May 7) around 2 p.m. at a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Oceanside, California, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.

Authorities began investigating Lambesis, 32, in the case on May 2, when they received information that he allegedly was trying to get someone to kill his wife.

A banda fez uma rápida turnê europeia nos meses de fevereiro e março, encerrando com uma série de sete shows na Alemanha. No ano passado, a banda passou pelos EUA nos meses de novembro e dezembro. Rocknews\\ Velvet Revolver procura 'silenciosamente' por novo vocal

Durante uma recente entrevista com a rádio Banana 101.5 em Flint, Michigan, SLASH falou sobre o atual status do VELVET REVOLVER, a banda que lançou dois álbuns pela RCA/SONY entre 2004 e 2007 antes de despedir o vocalista drogadito Scott Weiland em 2008.

“Com o Velvet, não há vocalista no posto, e nem teve, mas temos, na verdade, muito silenciosamente, procurado por alguém que seja certo pra banda”, disse Slash. “Mas, interessantemente, eu vou toar alguns shows na África do Sul com Duff McKagan e Matt Sorum e Glenn Hughes, e isso vai ser interessante. Se chama KINGS OF CHAOS e Duff e Matt e Steve Stevens e Glenn Hughes e Sebastian Bach são a banda principal, e eles chamam outros caras como convidados. Vai ser meio que como o Velvet Revolver com o Sebastian e Glenn Hughes cantando.”

Premiere\\ DEFTONES: 'Swerve City' Video Released

"Swerve City", the new video from Sacramento's DEFTONES, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's seventh studio album, "Koi No Yokan", which was released November 13, 2012 via Warner Bros Records. It debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, with over 65,000 copies sold first week. Revolver declared it their "Album of the Year," Spin selected it as one of its Top 50 Albums of 2012 (and its No. 5 Metal Album Of The Year), the New York Post hailed it as "one of the best rock albums of the year," and Penthouse said "If you hear an album this year that combines the ferocious and the sublime as well as DEFTONES' 'Koi No Yokan', please write us an email and flag it 'urgent.'"

DEFTONES released several different vinyl editions of "Koi No Yokan" on January 22. The four configurations are as follows: a standard retail version pressed on 140-gram black vinyl (3,000 units); a direct-to-consumer version on 180-gram black vinyl with foil-stamped numbered jackets (1,000 units); an international edition pressed on 180-gram vinyl; and an exclusive edition sold through Hot Topic retailers pressed on 140-gram clear-colored vinyl (1,500 units).

DEFTONES bassist Chi Cheng passed away on April 13 following complications from a 2008 car accident that left him in a semi-comatose state. He was 42.

Sergio Vega stepped in to play for the band on tour after Cheng's accident, staying on to record 2010's "Diamond Eyes" and "Koi No Yokan".

Premiere\\ LITA FORD: 'Mother' Video Released

 

"Mother", the new video from '80s hard rock queen Lita Ford, can be seen below. Directing the clip, which was filmed last September in Joshua Tree, California, was Ford's former THE RUNAWAYS bandmate Victory Tischler-Blue, whose film "Edgeplay" was based on her tenure in the 1970s all-girl teenage rock act.

"Mother", which is dedicated to Lita's estranged sons, Rocco and James (father is former NITRO singer Jim Gillette), comes off her new album, "Living Like A Runaway", out now on SPV/Steamhammer. "I wrote this song for [my sons]," Lita recently told the Deciblog. "I wrote this song to tell them how much I love them and to tell them that I didn't mean for this to happen [for Lita to be forced to live apart from her kids following her divorce from Gillette. — Ed.] and that it's not my fault. I didn't do this to them, although they think I did. I miss them, I love them. They're my life."

"It was hard to write," she told Examiner.com. "It was hard to record. It's hard to listen to. I find myself skipping over it sometimes, depending on how much makeup I have on that day. If I'm all made up, I'm like, 'Oh, can't cry right now!' I've done interviews where big, grown men tell me they've come away from it in tears. That's huge. That's what I wanted — for people to feel my pain. But it is a great song."

"Living Like A Runaway" was released on June 19, 2012 in North America. The effort was made available in four configurations: a double LP, limited-edition CD, standard CD and digital download. The artwork for the album was created by famed rock photographer Mark Weiss.

In an interview with Über Röck. Lita stated about "Living Like A Runaway", "This was an album I wrote during one of the darkest times of my life. I was going through this divorce and I needed somewhere to channel my feelings. My hurt, my pain, my aggression, my sadness, my happiness... all of these feelings are in this record. When you listen to the tracks, they are believable because they are real. . . It just came together; it was like a gift from God, this album. It took a year to write, it was a slow process, seeming like two years, and it came to me a piece at a time."

Lita has previously referred to "Living Like A Runaway" as her "real comeback album." She explained, "The last album I did was called 'Wicked Wonderland'. I put it out with Jim Gillette, and we were married at the time. It is kind of a Jim/Lita album and not a really true Lita album. I got a lot of spiel about that. . . I really wasn't that comfortable with that record — not at all, to tell you the truth. There are parts of it that are good, but it doesn't sound like a Lita record. When it got released, a lot of my fans felt weird about it and said it wasn't a Lita album. [It] turned out to be more of a Jim album. We worked pretty well together. It doesn't suck, it's not a bad album; it's just not a Lita album."

SEFOTEU\\ Former OBITUARY Guitarist Arrested For Methamphetamine Production, Possession

According to Tri-County Sun Times, former OBITUARY, SIX FEET UNDER and MASSACRE guitarist Allen West was arrested at the end of March in Lake Panasoffkee, Florida for methamphetamine production and possession.

After the musician called 911 to report that two males broke into his house, "[responding] deputies met with the property owner Allen West in a wooded area next to the residence," the web site reports. "Allen West stated that two male subjects forcibly entered his house by kicking in the front door at which time he fled out the rear and hid in the woods.

"West requested the deputies search his residence for possible subjects. During the search deputies noticed a strong acidic odor emitting from the master bedroom. Deputies then discovered in the master bedroom and bathroom plastic soda bottles with tubing protruding from them. The bottles also had a wet white pasty substance in the bottles and on the bathroom and bedroom counters. These items are commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine."

West's residence was subsequently searched by the Special Investigations Squad, which found "ammonium nitrate, sodium hydroxide (a.k.a. 'Drano'), a corrosive acid, lithium strips and other items commonly used to produce methamphetamine." The lab was dismantled and West was subsequently held on a $40,000 bond.

West, 45, is currently incarcerated at the Sumter County Jail in Bushnell, Florida.

In January 2008, West was released from the Gainesville Correctional Institution in Gainesville, Florida after serving eight months for driving under the influence (DUI).

West has had problems with alcohol abuse over the years and even quit OBITUARY for a time in August 2005 because he was unable to remain sober enough to play shows. OBITUARY originally hoped West would sober up enough to work on the band's "Xecutioner's Return" CD, but the guitarist couldn't pull it off, and on May 16, 2007 he was arrested and imprisoned after his fifth DUI offense.

De acordo com a agência Reuters e outras fontes, o vocalista Tim Lambesis, do AS I LAY DYING, foi preso por tentar contratar alguém para matar a sua esposa, de quem estava separado. Lambesis, 32, foi preso sem resistência por volta das 2 da tarde, horário local, do dia 7 de maio, em San Diego.

De acordo com a polícia, ele tentou contratar um investigador disfarçado para matar a sua esposa. "All Lips Go Blue" , the new video from Finnish "love" metallers HIM, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's new album, "Tears On Tape", which was released on April 30 via Razor & Tie in North America and on April 29 through DoubleCross (Cooking Vinyl's specialist rock imprint) in the U.K. and Ireland. The "love metal" act's eighth official album was recorded at Helsinki's Finnvox Studios with longtime producer Hiili Hiilesmaa (APOCALYPTICA, AMORPHIS, MOONSPELL) and was mixed in London, England by Tim Palmer, who previously helmed 2005's "Dark Light" and 2007's "Venus Doom".

In addition to the 13 new tracks, the very exclusive and very limited "fanpack", presented by Metal Hammer magazine and DoubleCross Records features some not-to-be-found-anywhere-else content. Exclusively available from April 29 for four weeks, it comes with a bespoke 132-page magazine edited by frontman Ville Valo himself that plays as the ultimate sleeve notes to the album.

The album's artwork was described by artist Daniel P. Carter as having come about via "a series of strange coincidences involving Lee Dorrian, sacred geometry and the ramblings of a madman."

HIM's North American tour, which was due to kick off in West Hollywood on May 3 at the House Of Blues, was canceled after the band's lead vocalist, Ville Valo, was diagnosed with severe asthma with presumptive pneumonia.

HIM's manager, Seppo Vesterinen of Hinterland, Inc., told BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the tour cancelation: "Ville has asthma and he got a pretty serious attack in the backstage at House Of Blues [in West Hollywood] on Friday and there was no way to perform. We got a doctor to the hotel at midnight and he diagnosed signs of pneumonia and prescribed antibiotics. The situation wasn't better on Saturday and we had to decide to cancel these dates to give him time for proper treatment and rest. He's being treated by best doctors in L.A. and we hope to continue the summer and fall as planned. Also he's been under a lot of stress for months recording the new album, artwork and promo for three different labels. Before Ville is fine, we can't make any definite plans for rescheduling these May dates. Ville and all of us feel really sorry for the fans who have bought tickets months ago and traveled long distances from Brazil, Canada and elsewhere."

HIM's current lineup is Ville Valo (vocals), Mikko "Linde" Lindström (guitar), Mikko "Migé" Paananen (bass), Janne "Burton" Puurtinen (keyboards), and Mika "Gas" Karppinen (drums). The band is managed by Seppo Vesterinen at Hinterland, Inc. and represented for U.S. touring by Justin Hirschman/AGI.

Following the cryptic surfacing of the LikeClockwork.tv and its hazy semi-clues and last night's Adult Swim ad, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have unveiled a trailer scored by three minutes of the never-before-heard "I Appear Missing", which appears in its entirety on the band's upcoming "...Like Clockwork" album, due out June 4 on Matador Records.

Showcasing disturbingly beautiful (or beautifully disturbing?) images from the boundless imagination of "...Like Clockwork" visual visionary, enigmatic U.K. artist Boneface (brought to life by animator Liam Brazier), "I Appear Missing" is a hypnotic journey into a nightmare-scape that adds illustrative dimension to another audio glimpse of the coming storm that is "...Like Clockwork".

Described by QUEENS principal Joshua Homme as "an audio documentary of a manic year," "...Like Clockwork" is the band¹s first full-length collection of all new material since 2007's "Era Vulgaris", as well as its debut release on new label partner Matador. "…Like Clockwork" features guest appearances from Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl and other luminaries, including the legendary Elton John. The Pulse Of Radio asked QUEENS frontman Josh Homme how he snagged the iconic singer/songwriter to play on the record. "It actually stemmed from an old roommate of mine, who drives really high-end folks around now, and Elton was in the car listening to THEM CROOKED VULTURES, I guess," he said. "And his assistant was saying, 'Oh, you've got to hear QUEENS, the other band of this guy,' you know. And because my old roommate was driving the car, it was like, 'Do you want to talk to him?' And I just got a phone call at my house on a Sunday. You know, he said, 'The only thing missing from your band is an actual queen,' and I said, 'Honey, you have no idea.'"

The track that Elton plays on is called "Fairweather Friend".

Although it was initially reported that Dave Grohl played all the drum tracks on the new CD, Grohl only appears on selected songs. The rest of the drums are handled by Joey Castillo and Jon Theodore.

Other guests on the record include SCISSOR SISTERS singer Jake Shears, ARCTIC MONKEYS frontman Alex Turner and one-time QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE members Mark Lanegan and Nick Oliveri.

SEFOTEU\\ MÖTLEY CRÜE Guitarist Is 'Alright' Following Canadian Stage Incident

 MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars was knocked over by a fan on stage during the band's headlining concert last night (Saturday, May 4) at Spectra Place in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada.

As the group was performing the song "Primal Scream", an audience member rushed the stage, bumping into Mars and grabbing MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil before being tackled and hauled off.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, you fucking idiot?" drummer Tommy Lee shouted as the man was being dragged off the stage.

Neil then told the audience, "We might be back," before he and his MÖTLEY CRÜE bandmates disappeared from view. They later returned to close out the set.

Earlier this afternoon, Mars tweeted the following message: "Thank all of you for your concerns about me being knocked down last night. I'm alright; nothing [is] broken. My bodyguard Rhyno got two busted ribs."

Mars, who was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) when he was 19, turned 62 years old yesterday.

In a 2008 interview with MusicRadar, Mick stated about his medical condition: "It's no walk in the park. In fact, it's why I kind of walk like Frankenstein. [laughs] The thing about ankylosing spondylitis is, it's caused by a gene; you first start noticing pain in your hips, usually when you're in your teens. What it does is it slowly fuses your bones together — your spine, your ribs… With most people it stops in their 30s, when the disease is still in their lower back. In my case, I have a rare form of the disease that hasn't stopped, so it's all the way up my whole back and into my brain stem. It's literally squeezing my rib cage together, so I've lost some height. And now that it's up in my brain stem it's hard for me to move my head in any direction, be it up and down or sideways. So I can't drive, I can't do any of that kind of stuff — this isn't a 'boo-hoo', it's just the facts."

He added: "There's no cure, but the doctors say they might, might be able to chip away some of the bone growth at the brain stem; it'll still grow back but I'll take any improvement. If I could just move my head a little and stand up straight, I'd be a happy man."

MÖTLEY CRÜE kicked off the most expansive run of Canada in the band's history on April 21 in Penticton, British Columbia.

The CRÜE will return to The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for a dozen shows September 18 through October 6.

Asked about the decision to release two separate live albums — "Made In Japan" and "Made In Britain" — several months apart, WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale told Sweden's Metalshrine: "We didn't plan the Japanese project. You know, the Japanese tour was booked and we were invited to headline at Loud Park and I hadn't headlined a Japanese music festival since 1984, so that was a very exciting premise for me. They made a very generous offer and then asked if they could film three songs for a TV special. We said OK and my co-producers, Doug Aldrich and Michael McIntyre, and I, mixed the three songs and obviously watching the video and going crazy. It looked fantastic and we had them send over the rest of the footage and thought, 'This could be a fabulous follow-up to 'Still Of The Night'.' And where we are now, featuring new songs for the first time. The record company we work with, Frontiers, they were absolutely positive in their response, so we added that to the mix. "What we're doing with the 'Made In Britain' CD, is giving it a different sonic identity. The CD from 'Made In Japan' is a soundtrack and the bonus stuff features behind-the-scenes, soundcheck stuff we recorded in different Japanese venues. O vocalista do BLACK SABBATH, Ozzy Osbourne, falou com a Mojo Magazine sobre a decisão do baterista original do grupo, Bill Ward, de não participar da reunião da banda, no ano passado.

Ward anunciou em maio de 2012 que estava recusando o trabalho com seus ex-companheiros de banda, que estava marcado para várias datas de 2012, assim como a gravação de um novo álbum devido disputas contratuais.

Ele supostamente fez seu advogado pedir ao SABBATH que o removesse de todas as fotos do site oficial do BLACK SABBATH, para não dar ao público a impressão errada sobre seu envolvimento com a atual formação do grupo.

Guitarist Igor Gianola recently left U.D.O. and was replaced by Finnish axeman Kasperi Heikkinen.

U.D.O. last year announced the addition of guitarist Andrey Smirnov to the group's ranks. He replaced Stefan Kaufmann, who left the group for health reasons.

Stefan will continue to work with U.D.O. behind the scenes and produce other bands at his Roxx studio.

Kaufmann was the drummer for ACCEPT on nine albums but was forced to give up drumming towards the end of the band's initial run due to health problems.

Stefan joined U.D.O. as a guitar player in 1996, following ACCEPT's second breakup, and has recorded nine albums with them.

"Live In Sofia", the new DVD+CD and Blu-ray+CD from U.D.O., entered the Music DVD chart in Finland at position No. 1 and in Germany at No. 4.

"Live In Sofia" contains footage of U.D.O.'s November 16, 2011 concert at Hristo Botev Hall in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Halford previously performed "Rapid Fire" with METALLICA at one of the band's four intimate shows in December 2011 at the Fillmore in San Francisco as part of the week-long celebration of METALLICA's 30th anniversary as a band for fan club members only.

This Friday (May 3) has been declared Metallica Night at AT&T Park in San Francisco, home of baseball's San Francisco Giants. According to a press release issued by the team, members of METALLICA will participate in pre-game festivities which will include throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performing the National Anthem. The custom Giants-themed guitars that will be played by the pair will be signed immediately following the National Anthem and auctioned off at the Giants Community Clubhouse, with proceeds being shared by the Giants Community Fund and the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.

METALLICA is also gearing up to headline its second annual Orion Music + More festival, scheduled for June 8-9 in Detroit.

Asked by France's Radio Metal in a recent interview if he is fed up having to answer questions about the possibility of a PANTERA reunion with Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) filling in for the late "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott on guitar, Anselmo said: "I'm not fed up with it. I understand the…. I understand. I'm a music fan myself. I love music. I love bands, I love collecting music. And for your average fan out there, if you're a PANTERA fan, of course, you want to see it. And, really, if you think about it, our career was pretty short. And here we are in 2013 and we're still talking about PANTERA. Obviously there's a great strength there, obviously there's a great memory there. But as far as us reforming or anything like that, the only thing… Look, I've said it in the past… It's not a very hopeful thing to think about, because I would guess Vinnie Paul [Abbott, former PANTERA drummer and Dimebag's brother] and I would have to sit down and talk, and right now, I don't think he wants to talk about that at all. And he definitely, sure as hell, doesn't wanna talk to me. Put it this way: my door is open always; his door is closed and locked. And until we can sort the situation out — if we can ever sort the situation out — then I would pretty much forget about a PANTERA reunion."

Jeffrey John Hanneman, guitarrista da banda de thrash metal Slayer, morreu às 11h desta quinta-feira (2) em um hospital no sul da Califórnia vítima de uma insuficiência hepática. O grupo confirmou a morte em sua página oficial no Facebook. Hanneman ajudou a fundar a banda junto com Kerry King e o baixista e vocalista Tom Araya em 81. A morte de Hanneman chega em um momento de crise no Slayer, pouco depois da demissão do baterista Dave Lombardo, que esteve na banda entre 1981 e 1992 e retornou ao grupo entre 2001 e 2013.

A banda havia publicado recentemente um comunicado sobre o estado de saúde do guitarrista, que sofria de uma fasciite necrosante, uma doença de pele degenerativa causada por bactérias. Especulava-se que a doença poderia ter sido provocada por uma picada de aranha. Segundo o comunicado divulgado na época, Hanneman chegou a ser submetido a um coma induzido e médicos cogitaram amputar seu braço.

"Tem sido um ano difícil desde que ele saiu do hospital e desde então ele teve que aprender a andar novamente, teve dolorosos enxertos de pele e ficou numa clínica para recuperar a força do braço e conseguir a voltar a tocar guitarra", declarou a banda em seu site oficial no ano passado. "Estávamos todos empolgados quando se juntou a nós no palco para um show do Big Four no Coachella [em abril de 2011]. Desde então temos dado a ele todo o apoio que é necessário, nós queremos que ele volte a tocar com a banda e acreditamos em sua reabilitação."

Na última passagem do Slayer pelo Brasil, em 2011, Hanneman já estava afastado do grupo para se tratar e foi substituído por Gary Holt. O próximo show da banda está marcado para 6 de junho em Enschede, na Holanda. No Brasil, eles têm shows marcados para 20, 22 e 24 de setembro (São Paulo, Rio e Curitiba).

Pantera, Slash e outros comentam a morte do guitarrista 
A morte de Jeff Hanneman repercutiu imediatamente entre os principais nomes do metal no mundo. As bandas Pantera, Anthrax e Chimaira e o guitarrista Zakk Wylde escreveram um "descanse em paz" para o artista em suas páginas no Twitter. Ex-baterista do Dream Theather, Mike Portnoy disse que estava "chocado" com a notícia.

"Notícias trágicas e chocantes sobre Jeff. Ele vai deixar saudades em tantos, que dia triste para o metal", escreveu o guitarrista Slash, ex-Guns N'Roses. Duff McKagan, também ex-colega de Slash no Guns, disse que sentia muito pela perda da família Hanneman.

Baixista do Black Sabbath, Geezer Butler se declarou "triste por saber da morte de Jeff".  A banda Biohazard escreveu: "muitas boas memórias com você Jeff. Diga o que está acontecendo para Dime", fazendo referência ao guitarrista Dimebag Darrel, do Pantera, morto em 2004 com tiro de um fã durante uma apresentação.

Os integrantes da banda sueca de death metal In Flames escreveram que estão "devastados de saber da passagem de Jeff Hanneman. Um dos maiores se foi, e por favor parem por um momento e prestem respeito a este homem fantástico. Isto é uma tragédia."

Outra banda de death metal, o Cannibal Corpse, lamentou a morte do guitarrista e agradeceu Hanneman. "Adeus, amigo. E obrigado por mudar a minha vida."
O cantor Andre WK disse que Jeff Hanneman será "para sempre será um deus do metal. Um verdadeiro mestre, que forneceu energia e diversão a milhões, e continuará a fornecer."
Wendy Dio, viúva do vocalista Ronnie James Dio, ofereceu seus pêsames à família do músico. "Nossos pensamentos e preces estão com a família, amigos e fãs de Jeff Hanneman".

Os integrantes da banda de hardcore Hatebreed também lembraram o músico morto. "Descanse em paz, Jeff Hanneman! Uma verdadeira LENDA do Heavy Metal!".

ADLER, the new band led by former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, has postponed its previously announced summer tour due to Steven checking into an undisclosed rehabilitation center to continue working on his sobriety.

"We are truly sorry to all of the fans and promoters who were looking forward to seeing us on the road, but right now Steven's health is the most important thing," states ADLER frontman Jacob Bunton. "We hope to make it up to everyone when Steven recovers."

U.S. dates are currently being rescheduled to early fall.

Adler appeared on season two of on the "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew" show and the first season of the spin-off program "Sober House" back in late 2008 and early 2009. Adler then went on to stints in real rehab centers after being ordered to by a judge as part of a DUI bust. He subsequently returned for Season 5 of "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew" alongside Michael Lohan, Dwight Gooden and Bai Ling, among others.

"Celebrity Rehab Presents Sober House" included footage of Adler being arrested on July 18, 2008 after he showed up at a sober-living home high and in possession of heroin.

Having been kicked out of his mother's house on numerous occasions before he was old enough to vote, Steven Adler reportedly started skipping school and doing drugs when he was 11.

Steven Adler was the drummer for GUNS N' ROSES from 1985 to 1990. He was eventually fired from the band due to his drug addiction, which caused him to spiral down into depression and more drug use.

Steven Adler's autobiography, "My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, and Drugs, and Guns N' Roses", came out in July 2010. In the book, Adler tells all, fearlessly addressing his struggles with heroin and crack addiction; his financial ruin after being kicked out of GN'R; his shattered marriage; and the severe health problems that nearly claimed his life on several occasions.

KORN is currently working on the follow-up to 2011's "The Path To Totality" with the help of returning guitarist and original bandmember Brian "Head" Welch.

Welch, who last played with KORN on their 2003 album "Take A Look In The Mirror", told RollingStone.com about his renewed collaboration with the band: "We knew we would have a blast playing together, because we love each other so much, but we really wanted to make sure the music felt right before we committed to making a whole album together. But since we got in the studio, everything just started pouring out, now I can't wait until our fans hear this stuff!"

KORN's as-yet-untitled new album is due late summer.

Welch will reunite with KORN for a number of shows this spring and summer, including two dates in Germany, one concert in the United Kingdom and at the upcoming Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, Ohio.

The guitarist joined KORN onstage for the song "Blind" in May 2012 at the Carolina Rebellion festival in Rockingham, North Carolina, marking the first time in eight years that KORN played with Welch.

Welch left KORN in 2005 to become a born-again Christian. The band never officially replaced him and stayed a four-piece, although they've used several touring guitarists for live work.

Former SUFFOKATE frontmn Ricky Hoover has shot down rumors that he has joined SUICIDE SILENCE as the replacement for their late vocalist Mitch Lucker.

Lucker died on November 1, 2012 after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach on Halloween night.

Writing on his Twitter account, Hoover said: "Don't believe what you hear #it'snotme," linking to an image that said "Rumors are just rumors lol." A second tweet simply said, "I am not in a band."

Hoover was one of the "surprise" guests who performed with with the surviving members of SUICIDE SILENCE at a special show on December 21, 2012 at the Fox theater in Pomona, California as a tribute to Lucker. All proceeds from the event went towards the education of Mitch's five-year-old daughter, Kenadee Lucker.

Hoover quit SUFFOKATE in May 2012, claiming that it was "in the best interest for everyone" for him to depart. He revealed that he "could no longer continue" to front the band due to reasons he "[wouldn't] get into." He added, "I have no bad feelings or ill will towards the band and will always have love for them and the music I was fortunate enough to help create. I have poured my all and given everything I have into these last two albums and will always be grateful for them and everyone who supported me. No matter what happens, the guys in SUFFOKATE will always be my brothers. I will do whatever i can to help them out. They are some of the greatest people I have ever met and I'm truly thankful I've gotten to do this with them."
