O Metallica foi anunciado como atração principal do Download Festival 2012. O evento acontece em Donington Park, dia 9 de junho do ano que vem.
Na ocasião, a banda executará o Black Album na íntegra. Será a oitava participação do grupo no festival desde que ele se chamava Monsters Of Rock.
