Traduza\\ SOUNDGARDEN's CHRIS CORNELL: 'It Doesn't Feel Like We Broke Up'

SOUNDGARDEN officially reunited in early 2010 after 13 years apart, playing an April hometown show in Seattle and a tiny Chicago gig before headlining Lollapalooza last month. A new song called "Black Rain" is out and a retrospective set titled "Telephantasm" arrives later this month. Yet with all that going on, singer Chris Cornell told The Pulse of Radio that it doesn't feel like the band has "reformed". "That word has been weird," he said. "The idea of us getting back together has been strange. You know, we did officially break up, but it honestly doesn't feel like we broke up and now we've reformed. It's hard to explain, but it feels like we've just sort of always been a band and we just took a long break and now we're back together."

"Telephantasm" will come out on September 28 and will include a mix of hit singles, rare live material, alternate takes and album cuts, along with the previously unreleased "Black Rain", which was recorded during the sessions for the band's 1991 "Badmotorfinger" album but left off the album.

In an unusual marketing move, the band has partnered with gaming company Activision Publishing to release the single-disc, 12-song edition of "Telephantasm" inside one million copies of the new video game "Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock". This marks the first time a full-length music album will be bundled with a video game. "Telephantasm" will also be issued in three expanded editions.

SOUNDGARDEN does not have any other shows on its schedule at the moment, although more gigs are likely. The band has not said whether it will record a new album, but a collection of B-sides and a live release are also possibly in the cards.
