O Rock in Rio 2011 anunciou o System of a Down em sua programação, para tocar no dia 2 de outubro. A organização do festival traz a banda que foi mais votada na enquete "O diretor artístico do festival é você", lançada no site oficial do festival.
Além do System of a Down, o Detonautas também foi anunciado no line-up do dia 2 de outubro, que também terá Guns N' Roses e Pitty. Os ingressos para o Rock in Rio 2011 começam a ser vendidos neste sábado, 7 de maio.
